Survived the long haul flight and our 3rd and final flight ✈️ is to Prague. Only 1hr....hopefully no more food! So far so good! Looking forward to getting to our hotel.

Drizzly rain with a Max of abut 6deg. Lovely Hotel with all mod cons. Caught the Subway this afternoon but didn't take long to get lost! Dinner tonight at a local restaurant on the corner. Beer and meals were excellent local fare.Leggi altro

Prague

Prague is beautiful in Autumn. Very full day. Prague castle....little cafes for coffee ☕️ and " chimney cake". Charles Bridge....Astronomical clock....Czech beer both dark and light....
12 deg and clear. Big day tomorrow.

Long day ...12hrs 400ks. But great! Bratislava is wonderful....fairytale. Visited the castle....so windy. Then time to wander the little city centre. Ate at the local inn..cabbage soup with smoked meat. And an ale!Leggi altro

A whirlwind look at Vienna city centre today. 13 deg sunny 🌞. Overwhelming really....the architecture and history here. Visited St Stephens sq ..... Christmas market which was fabulous.....ate Cheese kransky hot dogs with mustard .....drank Gluwein....shopped....and drank excellent coffee ☕️. Visited the memorial to Mozart which was a must. Too much to take in in such a short time but we did our best! The view from our hotel windows this morning was breathtaking.Leggi altro

Arrived yesterday arvo and had a few hours to explore this picture perfect little city. Our hotel is excellent and only 2.5ks from town. More exploring today. -1 deg atm 7am.

Lake Bled.

Lake Bled is 35ks from Ljubljana in the Julian Alps in Slovenia. It is a beautiful fairytale experience. 10deg clear and sunny 🌞. We visited the castle....a steep climb on cobblestones...then we enjoy coffee ☕️ and pastrami and basil pesto with parmesan at a local Cafe. The views are spectacular. A wonderful day.Leggi altro

Took the water taxi from the mainland to Venice. Amazing! Once again beautiful architecture and the canals and gondolas are colourful. Ate foccacia and gelato and drank Spritz with prosecco. Excellent hotel. Enjoying every minute!Leggi altro

Civitavecchia

After a long day of 540ks we reached the port of Civitavecchia. Here we embarked on our cruise around the Mediterranean on the world class MSC World Europa cruise ship. Our cabin has a sea view and is very spacious. We are pretty exhausted and overwhelmed at the size of this ship. Over 6000 passengers. It's like living in a shopping centre. Tomorrow we'll wake refreshed we hope!Leggi altro

A shore excursion today to Palermo Sicily and Monreale. Plenty of walking...cathedrals....beautiful architecture and of course food! Ate sardines stuffed with almonds and sultanas...pastries...and espresso coffee ☕️. A wonderful day. Palermo is not as pretty as Slovenia but has much to offer. 23deg. Sailing onite.Leggi altro

Docked here this morning. The walls we see are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Weather has changed so can expect some wind and rain. We took the hop on hop off bus to see sights close to the Port.

At sea.

Left the historical port of Valletta Malta and sailed all night and all day . No shore excursions so everyone was on board. We are experiencing some nasty weather with winds reaching in excess of 50ks. I was suffering from motion sickness this morning but sea sickness pills are great. Much better tonight. We ate fritto misto and drank cocktails from the Grab and Go on board. We go to a show every night.. .they are excellent. Relaxed in the afternoon. This floating hotel pitches and rolls like a cork on the vast sea.Leggi altro

Hola from Barcelona. 20deg sunny 🌞. After disembarking we wandered the world famous boulevard The Ramblas. Just beautiful! Visited the Barcelona cathedral and Christmas market. Today was about eating....markets....shopping. We ate cheese platter....fried baby squid and drank red Sangria. Bought cheese and seasoned salami ready packed for travelling. Later we ate seafood Paella with white Sangria. We shopped for chocolate and jewellery. A wonderful way to spend some hours in Barcelona.Leggi altro

Bonjour from Toulon....on the French Riviera. Due to bad weather we were unable to dock at Marseilles. Toulon is very picturesque...a large port and Naval base. We took the little white train on a city tour....visited the fruit and vegetable market.. ate strawberry crepes and drank wine. 14deg but sunny 🌞. Rome wasn't built in a day but that's all we had on this whirlwind tour! After disembarking from the ship we took a day tour into the city centre. 1 1/2 hrs drive and then a walk to the Colosseum. Amazing! Then the Trevi foundation which was my favourite. We ate Pizza and drank Spritz. Then a walking tour..in the rain..to many other sites before boarding the bus...soaking wet.Leggi altro
