Beautiful day...again. Up and out to visit local villages. First stop - Bonnieux (Vaucluse) Gros coup de coeur! This is where I would like ro retire. Lovely village set on a mountain - lots of steps and sloping streets. Stopped for lunch (picnic) at La Bastidonne (Vaucluse). Next stop - Lacoste. Smaller village somewhat opposite Bonnieux, also on a mountain. Here there is the chateau of the Marquis de Sade, in ruins, but later bought by Pierre Cardin who is restoring it. Couldn't visit - only open in Summer months. Discovered SCAD ; Savanna College of Arts and Design. They have set up a summer campus and recruiting office. Not as impressive Lacoste. third village - Ménerbes. Not much time to go around, but it too, built on a mountain. Would be nice to return some day....
