Millennium Park

This is a beautiful park but it seems very different from our own Central Park back home in New York City. I don’t think either one is better than the other though. They are just too different toLeer más
Tulips

The people of Chicago must really love their tulips because there are so many of them growing here in Millennium Park. I’ve never thought much about tulips, one way or another but they’re reallyLeer más

Cloud Gate

Our free Tours by Foot tour has ended here in Millennium Park, leaving us free to explore Cloud Gate at our own pace. We always enjoy these tours but sometimes we would like a little more time atLeer más
Mirror Selfies

The surface of the Bean is polished up like a mirror so we were easily able to take photos of ourselves together. Unfortunately, the surface distorts things, making it feel like we’re looking at aLeer más
Under the Bean

Using a fisheye lens can give very unique and stylish photos. Here’s a shot taken from under the Bean. Such a different perspective!
Kathy and the Bean

I really love how the skyline of Chicago is reflected on the bean. Its polished mirror shine gives off really great reflections!
It’s Me!

I’m happy to have photos taken of me with the Bean, but Kathy seems to have a tendency to like shooting from very far back, getting the whole body in the frame. I prefer a tighter crop, but that’sLeer más
The Bean

The Bean, or Cloud Gate, is a sculpture that’s supposed to reflect the city's movement and energy. The sculpture's name and design are inspired by liquid mercury.
Where is Everyone?

I had expected the people from our tour group to still be around the park, seeing the Bean and relaxing, but they’ve all disappeared. I’m surprised because this is one of Chicago’s major touristLeer más
Always Look Up

We’ve seen the Bean from just about every angle by now and are starting to think about moving on and see what else Chicago has to offer.
One Last Look

We still don’t see anyone from our tour group around the Bean. It’s strange that they all ran off so quickly. I don’t mind though. It’s nice that Kathy and I are on our own again.
Up the Stairs

Now that our tour is over, we’re ready to move on and see more of Chicago. We’re starting to get hungry so now would be a good time to go somewhere for lunch.
Now Arriving

The trains seem to come very quickly here in Chicago. I don’t think that we’ve ever waited more than a few minutes. I’m also impressed by how clean the trains, and stations, are. I really enjoyLeer más

Order up!

Kathy ordered the Double Bulgogi Burger, with no mayonnaise, from the international menu. The item that I wanted, fries with Chinese style seasoning, was sold out so I just had to order regularLeer más
An Interesting Burger

Kathy looks a bit surprised by her burger but she’s more than willing to give it a try. She’s always been more adventurous in dining than I am. I’m getting better though.
Where’s the Meat?

This looks like a lettuce sandwich but under all that greenery are two pork patties. It looks interesting but I’ll be happy to stick with my regular McDouble burger.
