At Our Table

The Gumbo Shop looks, and feels, like a very classic old restaurant. It’s very popular so I’m sure that the food is going to be fantastic!

Ordering gumbo from the Gumbo Shop is a no-brainer. Kathy ordered a bowl of this rice dish as an accompaniment to her dinner. It looks to be a bit too spicy for me. I didn’t even taste it!
I ordered something a lot less spicy, the catfish po’boy sandwich. It may not look as flashy or as photogenic as the gumbo but at least I know that it’s something that I could enjoy eating.
The gumbo was a bit spicier than Kathy had expected but she finished all of it, which surprised me. She’s really determined to eat her way through the whole menu of Cajun and Creole cuisine!
Being that the gumbo was so spicy, Groot was satisfied to stick with sharing a bit of my catfish po’boy. It’s simple, tasty, and satisfying!
While walking back to the hotel, we past several places that looked kind of interesting and we were thinking about possibly visiting them before we left. I loved the name of this pizza place in theLæs mere
We’ve passed by Rev. Zombie’s Voodoo Shop every time we come to New Orleans. The last time we visited, we bought Veronica a voodoo doll here. This place looks a lot creepier at night!
The French Quarter seems a lot more quiet and empty than we remember it being. Where is everyone? This area seems kind of creepy when it’s empty.
I usually prefer traveling when things aren’t very crowded but this just feels strange. Bourbon Street is supposed to be a very lively and happening place, not like this.
