Walking through Louis Armstrong International Airport is our first look at New Orleans. It feels so good to be walking around after sitting on the plane for a while. Let’s find an Uber ride and headEn savoir plus
Our Uber taxi picked us up very quickly. It cost us $40 to ride from the airport to our hotel in the French Quarter. That’s about what we expected to pay so I guess that it’s a fair price. OurEn savoir plus

We’re finally here in our hotel room! We’re on the 12th floor of the J.W. Marriott on Canal Street in the French Quarter. It looks comfortable and, more importantly, clean!

As we were walking out of the hotel, ready to do some exploring, we saw a group of murals painted around the lobby. They were all from the same artist and depicted scenes from the Mardi Gras and JazzEn savoir plus
We’re here in the lobby of our hotel and taking a few photos before going out. There’s nobody else around so this is a great opportunity for some pictures.
Music, particularly Jazz, is very important in New Orleans so it’s no surprise that many of these murals are painted to depict scenes of music along with the Mardi Gras celebrations.
