  • Molly Brown

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

The riverboat here in Disneyland Paris looks a bit strange without the big paddle wheel on the back. It just looks like something is missing. I wanted to ride on this, to get more shots of Big Thunder Mountain as we circled around the river but, unfortunately, the boat wasn't open today. Like the train, it was closed for renovations. So sad! I must say though, the American flag hanging on the back of the boat is a nice touch.Read more

  • More BTMRR

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

While primarily based on the Walt Disney World version, Disneyland Paris's version is unique as it is situated on an island in the middle of the Rivers of the Far West, where Tom Sawyer's Island would normally sit. It is also the only version of the ride to be an opening day attraction.Read more

  • Halloween Town

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

A couple of these buildings, looking like they were taken from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" were standing outside of Phantom Manor. Kathy wanted me to take her photo here but was annoyed that I didn't zoom in closer. I explained to her that the building is actually a face and to see it you had to include the whole building. She didn't seem to understand what I was talking about but then, she's never seen "The Nightmare Before Christmas", either. I did take a few close up shots of her posing here but I don't think that they are as effective as this is.Read more

  • Zero

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

I really like the inclusion of Zero in the display. I think that Jack Skellington's dog is forgotten about far too often. It's strange to see Halloween decorations on display in November, especially when combined with Christmas decorations. It just looks very odd.Read more

  • Molly Brown Takes Sail

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

While we were taking pictures by the Nightmare Before Christmas houses, we noticed the Molly Brown boat go sailing past us. This surprised us because the boat was listed as being closed for renovations. Maybe they changed their mind and opened it up again? If it's actually running, the boat looks awfully empty. If Molly Brown really is open, maybe we can ride this later.Read more

  • Phantom Manor

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

With a last look back at Phantom Manor, we're ready to go off and see more of what Disneyland Paris has to offer. So far, we like it here. Our visit is off to a great start!

  • The Shootin' Gallery

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 45 °F

Every Frontierland in the Disney parks seems to have one of these shooting arcades. I've always been curious about trying one out but I've never done it yet. Kathy was encouraging me to try this one but I thought that it was a bit expensive. If I don't come back to this later, I'll definitely do it at the next Disney park that we visit.Read more

  • Coco Promotion

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ☁️ 45 °F

I haven't seen Coco yet but, from all I've heard about it, it's supposed to be fantastic. I'm sure it will be good. I can't think of a single Disney animated movie that I didn't like.

  • Cacti

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ☁️ 45 °F

The colorful and surrealistic look of these cactus plants almost make you feel like you're inside the Coco movie. These displays are really making me want to see this movie!

  • Coco Decorations

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ☁️ 45 °F

I wonder if there are people who are not familiar with the Coco movie and, if so, what would they make of these decorations. With all the skulls, these could be Halloween decorations or even used for the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead.Read more

  • Bye, Coco!

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ☁️ 45 °F

We've seen just about everything there is in Frontierland so we're moving on to the next land. I think that I prefer the Frontierland in Walt Disney World better. I miss the Country Bears!

  • Adventureland

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ☁️ 45 °F

Adventureland is the next land we came to. It's strange how the placement of these lands is reversed when compared to Walt Disney World. Their welcoming sign is very low key but I'm hoping for some fun attractions and sites here.Read more

  • The Treehouse

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ☁️ 46 °F

To be fair, this isn't a great attraction no matter which park it's in. Essentially, you just climb up the stairs, enjoy the view for a bit, and then climb back down. There are some things to see in the treehouse but not enough to make me want to take that walk to the top. Apparently, I'm not alone in thinking this. This attraction never seems to have a line so I guess that it's not as popular as some of Adventureland's other attractions.Read more

  • Under the Treehouse

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

Directly under the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse are Ben Gunn's Tunnels. We had thought that this was another attraction in Adventureland but it turned out to be nothing more than a playground for children. We were very disappointed with this.Read more

  • Ben Gunn's Tunnels

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

I don't understand how they named these tunnels under the treehouse. Ben Gunn was a character from Treasure Island, not the Swiss Family Robinson. The two stories have nothing at all in common. We didn't stay in here long. There was too many kids running around in here and yelling for us to enjoy it. It's time for us to move on to something else.Read more

  • Pirates!

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

This is what we saw as we came out of Been Gunn's Tunnels. I've seen pictures of this pirate ship on the internet but it looks much better, and bigger, in person!

  • Captain Hook's Ship

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

It's nice to see this area so empty. In Walt Disney World, it's always so crowded, anywhere you go, making photography like this a challenge or, at times, downright impossible. I hope the Disneyland Paris stays this empty all day!Read more

  • The Galleon

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

This full sized pirate ship was very impressive looking. I'm not sure if this is an attraction or if it's just there as a display. I'd like to get a closer look at this ship.

  • Skull Rock

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

This rock formation was right next to the pirates ship. This is the only park that has Skull Rock, from the Peter Pan movie. There used to be one in the Disneyland in California but, for some reason, they took it away back in the early 1980's, I think. They should have kept it. It looks great!Read more

  • Another Playground?

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

After getting a closer look at the pirate ship, we learned that this is another play area. Really? Another playground? We've barely seen any of the park and this is the second play area that we've seen so far. I guess that playgrounds are very popular with the French people.Read more

  • Skull Rock

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

Here's another look at Skull Rock. I didn't realize until later that you could actually go inside of Skull Rock. I bet that I could have gotten some great shots of that view. After doing some research, I learned that the original Skull Rock was removed from Disneyland in 1982 during a big overhaul of Fantasyland. I really think that it should have stayed.Read more

  • Pirates of the Caribbean

    November 8, 2017 in France ⋅ ⛅ 46 °F

Right across from the pirate ship was, naturally, the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. We really wanted to get on this ride but, unfortunately, the ride had broken down when we got there. All we saw was some castmembers telling people that the ride was not running at the moment but, hopefully, it will be soon. Lots if people were asking how long it might take and the castmembers, of course, had no answer.Read more
