Fontana del Moro

After coming out of the church, we wandered back towards the Fontana del Moro before realizing that we had just come from that direction and we should move on to see the third fountain in PiazzaMeer informatie
Fontana del Moro

I didn't mind coming back to the Fontana del Moro because it allowed me to see more of the details that make up this beautiful fountain and document it all with more photos.
Fontana dei Quattro

Here's a bit of trivia for movie buffs. The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi was used in the 1990 film Coins in the Fountain. The characters threw coins into the fountain as they made wishes. The TreviMeer informatie
Reflections

Here's my obligatory artsy shot of the obelisk at the center of the fountain. I saw it's reflection on one of the many puddles of rain water surrounding the fountain and just couldn't resist.
Fontana del Nettuno

Fontana del Nettuno, translated as the Fountain of Neptune, is the last of the three fountains in Piazza Navona. Neptune is seen here, in the center of the fountain, fighting an octopus. I'm guessingMeer informatie
Ciao, Italia!

Since this area was very empty, I decided to bring out Groot and do some toy photography. Groot is fun and easy to work with. He seems to fit in so naturally wherever he is.
Groot on Vacation

Groot was only out for a few minutes, posing by the fountain, when a little boy wandered up and tried to grab him! I was very surprised but moved quickly to grab Groot and hold him away from theMeer informatie
Making Plans

While I was taking pictures, Kathy and Bryan were comparing things on their phones. I'm not sure if they were looking for a place to have lunch or trying to decide what we should see next. I'm fineMeer informatie
Danbo

Since Kathy and Bryan were busy with their phones, I decided to get a few shots of Danbo. He's such a simple and plain looking character but, yet, he somehow manages to look so expressive. I likeMeer informatie
Kathy

I never get tired of taking pictures of Kathy. She's my muse, my inspiration and the love of my life. She's everything to me and always will be.
Details

The fountains here in Piazza Navona really are beautiful. The details of the sculptures are incredible. It's amazing to think that all of this was done hundreds of years ago by hand.
Spitting Birds

The fountains here are so beautiful but I'm wondering how they were able to create flowing water, like seen on this eagle, when there was no motors to control water pressure or the flow of the water.Meer informatie
Simply Spouting

Here's another one of the faces that are spouting water in the fountain. The details on the face are astounding! This looks just like a real person!
Double Flow

Here's another side of the fountain, with a double sided water flow. I'm not an engineer but I would think that this would be difficult to construct without some sort of motor pulling the water up andMeer informatie
Moving On

We've seen, and admired, all three of the fountains of Piazza Navona, as well as it's cathedral, so it's time for us to move on and see more of Rome. I'm going to try for a few more shots of the otherMeer informatie
King of the Beasts

Seen in Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, or the Fountain of Four Rivers, this lion is representative of Africa and the Nile river. The more that I look at this fountain, the more details I keep finding.

More Faces

I'm starting to understand why Kathy and Bryan were finished with the fountains much faster than I was. After a while, all of these faces start looking sort of the same. I wonder if my interest wouldMeer informatie
Blowing Water

I've been doing photography for so long that I couldn't imagine traveling without a camera. I think it makes me see things differently, as well as see more, than most other people. I'll examine thingsMeer informatie
More Details

With getting this shot, I think that I've got the fountains of Piazza Navona pretty well covered. I'm think that I'm ready to move on and see more of Rome. I'm so impressed with this city so far!
Where is Everyone?

Suddenly, I looked up from taking pictures and I didn't see Kathy or Bryan! I don't know where they went. I guess that they kept walking thinking that I was right behind them. I'd better find themMeer informatie
I Don't See Them

I'm looking all around, like this statue in the fountain, but I don't see them anywhere. I'm getting very worried now. Getting separated in the mall or a supermarket isn't a big deal but getting lostMeer informatie
Calming Down

After an initial moment of panic, common sense kicked in as I realized that, if I didn't find them soon, I know where the hotel is and I have my key. I could also call them, or send a message. I didMeer informatie
Chestnuts

We decided to go back to the hotel for a short rest before having something for lunch. On the walk back, Kathy noticed, and became fascinated, by the many people we saw selling chestnuts from stallsMeer informatie
We're Back!

By the time we got back to the hotel I wasn't feeling very good. I think that the breakfast that I had this morning wasn't agreeing with me. I remember the eggs being quite greasy but I didn't thinkMeer informatie
