Spontaneously did 24 hours in Leuven to go and visit two friends I met in Goeteborg. It's a very nice student town and definitely worth a visit though once again not a city to stay in longer than a couple of days.... Off to Brussels now where I'll be meeting Dominic whose in Brussels as well!Read more
It was a short visit in antwerpen in a very nice backpacker hostel that was managed by a family. The city was pretty enough, but was not a place go stay in for longer than two days. Sadly I have no pictures to present as my camera was malfunctioning.Read more
The week of Amsterdam is over! Despite a difficult beginning in a Christian hostel that wasn't that nice I made at least one good friend and enjoyed Amsterdam a lot! Sadly, my camera was a acting up a little so I don't have that many pictures to present.... Off to Antwerp now!Read more
Very short stay in aarhus as it wasn't planned and I wanted to break up the train ride between Goeteborg and Amsterdam. Nontheless, aarhus is quite a pretty city, a good end for the Scandinavian part of my travels.Read more
Definitely in love with Goeteborg! Got there on Monday and stayed 'til today. The city its self is not a city you'd call pretty (there are some, but not a whole lot of old buildings like in heidelberg) but I really liked the city ambiente. There were so many parks you could go to and maybe I'm just getting used to Scandinavian prices but it seemed less expensive then oslo, Stockholm, or Copenhagen. The hostel was really nice as well (got to know a lot of people and really enjoyed talking to the staff as well) and it was sorta sad to go today....Read more
So have you started to learn Swedish or is your English helpful? Looks like a very livable place though a lot of churches!
Only know the basic Swedish now but mostly English is enough a lot of people even speak some German
We ended up not being able to find someplace to stay for another night in Oslo so we went to Stavanger. It's a very pretty town in which we happened upon an environmental festival with a lot of free self made juice pestos etc. Now I'm heading towards goeteborg by myself where I'll stay the next couple of nightsRead more
Going to Oslo today after a great stay in Stockholm. I met two fellow interrailers, Leo and Rebecca, whom I'll be sharing an airbnb with, since all hostels are booked already..... Heard that oslo wouldn't be as pretty as Stockholm and kopenhagen but I'm sure it'll be nice enough anyways :).Read more
Decided to go to Stockholm cause the train ride to oslo would've been almost 10 hours.... Met najah on the train, a fellow interrailer and we took a walk along the river.. Tomorrow we're going to go swimming in it (something the locals seem to do quite frequently) and take a city tour. I'll probably stay 'til Thursday or so...Read more
Arrived in Copenhagen. Although the hotel seems to be for the generation above me, it's quite inviting and I'll hope to meet new people on the free city tour tomorrow.
Cool. Try Sandwiches at Smagsløgget, Porridge at Grød and go to Café Retro in the old town for a nice hang out spot. Studenterhuset has the cheap beer!
In Christiania there are often free outdoor concerts in the summertime at Cafe Nemo or things going on at Loppen. Also walk to the Great Lake to take in the beauty and the houses that look like the burrow.
