Mekong River - Travelling by boat

This is the second time that I’ve been traveling by boat. We used the current of the Mekong River to travel upstream, close to the border of Thailand. This journey took me a total of 2 full days.

On the boat itself, there were small beds, but not suitable for sleeping through the night. So, where would be the best place to stay overnight?
A small fisherman village on the Mekong River. I had the opportunity to stay with a lovely homestay family in this small village.

With just 70 souls calling this village home, it definitely radiated a cozy charm that captured my heart. The people in that village were some of the most hospitable individuals I’ve met on my journey. They made sure that I was feeling well and had everything I needed. The heart of this village are definitely the children. With their big smiles, they welcomed me and immediately started following me around the town.
