  • Cebu City - Of to a new horizon

    6 marzo 2024, Filippine ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Islands the eye can see. What does one want more.
This hilly small Island that I call home for now is called Cebu.
With almost a million habitats it resides in the heart of the philippines. Truly a place of pure chaos and nature all in one. The people definitely have a strong resemblance to their previous visitors. The traditions, cultural aspects and religious demeanour all come from the spaniards. These are traits that are still strongly visible till this date.

With open arms these people welcomed me as a tourist and now I venture trough this small and yet stunning places in Cebu.

  • Moalboal - Coast of dreams

    9 marzo 2024, Filippine ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

“Ho visto visi e vocidi chi ho amato
    prima o poi andar via
E ho respirato un mare sconosciuto
nelle ore larghe e vuote di un’estate di città
Accanto all mia ombra lunga di malincolia”

In a small offshore village, there lies this beautiful place called Moalbaol. Hurdled and visited by tourists, it offers a lot of activities that keep oneself
busy. This place is definitely a touristic haven, that one can have it all.

  • Manila - Big city life

    11 marzo 2024, Filippine ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

Manila has been a warm, welcoming return to a bigger city. With its 13 million inhabitants, this city definitely ranks among the largest on earth. The streets were often mentioned as crowded and chaotic, but I found that to be far from the truth.

The bustling bigger cities in Vietnam had a lot of traffic, these ones definitely felt safer and more organized. Sure, there were a lot of cars and motorcyclists, but definitely not as chaotic as Saigon or Hanoi.

This city has been a quick stopover for a bigger part of a trip that I am about to embark on. Meeting all sorts of different people has been good for my soul. What I definitely found out about myself on this trip is that I am a social being, and I tend to make friends from all over the place.

  • Palawan - Arrival on the dream Island

    13 marzo 2024, Filippine ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

And this again is another one for the books! And a big one at that. That detour marks as one of the new seven wonders of nature on this small green ball that we are on. The sightseeing attraction was a long underground river. To be precise the longest on earth. This magnificent natural wonder features a navigable underground river that stretches for 8 kilometers through a limestone cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea.

The creation of the underground river itself is a natural process that occurred over millions of years through the dissolution of limestone by groundwater, eventually forming the extensive cave system. The constant flow of water through the caves helped carve out the underground river's path, creating the remarkable subterranean waterway that we see today. This gradual process of erosion and cave formation is a testament to the power of nature and the geological forces that shape our planet's landscapes.

  • Port Barton - Island hopping

    14 marzo 2024, Filippine ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Once upon a time, amidst the turquoise waters of the Philippines, a group of adventurous friends embarked on an unforgettable island hopping journey. Setting sail from the shores of Palawan, they eagerly ventured forth, eager to uncover the hidden treasures scattered across the shory beaches.

Their first destination unveiled a pristine white sand beach, hugged by towering limestone cliffs. Stepping onto the white shore, they were greeted by the warm caress of the sun and the gentle embrace of the sea breeze. The morning was spent snorkeling in the crystal clear blue waters, marveling at the kaleidoscope of colors dancing beneath the surface.

Navigating through a labyrinth of islets, they stumbled upon secret coves and lagoons, each more enchanting than the last. Here, they lounged in hammocks strung between swaying palm trees, savoring the sweetness of freshly cracked coconuts and the serenity of their surroundings.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue across the sky, they gathered around a crackling bonfire on a deserted beach. Amidst laughter and camaraderie, they indulged in grilled seafood caught earlier in the day, toasting to the magic of the moment and the enduring bonds of friendship.

With hearts brimming with cherished memories and souls rejuvenated by nature's embrace, they bid farewell to the islands, knowing that their island hopping escapade had left an indelible mark on their lives. And as they sailed into the horizon, they carried with them the echoes of laughter, the whispers of the sea, and the promise of new adventures yet to come.

  • Cebu - Goodbye and Hello

    25 marzo 2024, Filippine ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

So basically, these are the bits that are often forgotten in traveling. The boring, I’m-kind-of-stuck parts. There’s nothing much to do, just waiting around while time passes. Being stimulated by YouTube and eating food, hoping that something is going to happen, but realizing there isn’t much to do.

Welcome to Cebu City. Lost and not so memorable.

But to be honest, maybe it isn’t that bad. I had some time to think about life and whatnot.

    30 marzo 2024, Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

Borobudur and Prambanan are two iconic temple located in Java, Indonesia.

Borobudur is a massive Buddhist temple dating back to the 9th century, and it is considered one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world. It is famous for its intricate carvings and stupas, and it is built in the shape of a mandala, representing the Buddhist cosmos.

  • Bromo - Climbing new heights

    1 aprile 2024, Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

    Rumbling.

A sensation experienced while hiking an active volcano. Waking up at two in the morning just to not miss the sunrise at the best spot on Mount Bromo. As we watch the volcanic activity in the background, mesmerized by the beautiful landscape unfolding before us. All at once. But the best way to celebrate this event was playing with neapolitan cards.

This is a new for me.

    Heavy breathing.
Wisata Kawah Ijen, or also known as the Ijen Crater, is an unforgettable hike to an active volcano. Definitely famous for the blue-flame acidic crater lake.

The volcano is filled with sulfur vents emitting blue flames at night. Also the crater emits sulfuric gases, including hydrogen sulfide, which can be harmful if inhaled in large quantities.Leggi altro

  • Bali Ubud - Monkey Forest

    4 aprile 2024, Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 31 °C

    Mischievous little buggers.

Once, I visited the Monkey Forest, eager to see the playful primates. As they walked through the lush jungle, one mischievous monkey spotted a shiny object dangling from my backpack. With lightning speed, the monkey leaped onto my back and snatched the object. Now the object isn’t mine to possess anymore. Rather the Monkey is the new owner of it.

Beware of these little creatures! They seem playful and funny but they’re nasty creatures.

  • Gili Trawangan - Scuba License

I DID IT! Never would I have thought to even like scuba diving. But the truth is far from it. I liked it so much that I ended up doing the ‘open water divers license’.

Now I can conquer and explore depth’s never reached before.

My personal record lies 20m beneath surface. On the small offshore coast of the Gili Islands, I scuba dived and saw wonderful creatures and creations made from gods hands.

  • Lombok - Goodbye to the warm weather

    9 aprile 2024, Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

Saying goodbyes is never easy. Even to this odd and warm place. Indonesia was a welcoming country. Lots of food variations and different vegetation.

What I definitely loved, was the slow pace Lombok and the Gili’s offered. Fortunate enough it was rainy season, this meant no big tourists accumulation. Definitely a big plus for me. I really am tired being in masses and tourism spots.

This is the end of Indonesia and I am ready to venture to the next Island Hopping experience. Japan here I come.

  • Osaka - Part 1: Universal Studios park

    12 aprile 2024, Giappone ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

You just woke up in your childhood dreams. But this time you’re awake. How awesome is that?!

The world is turned upside down and I find myself in the world of Super Mario. Thanks to Universal Studios. They build a themed park after the heroic Super Mario Character and its friends and foes. My sister and I, we traveled to Japan to visit this amazing park full of enjoyment and great food.

    A dream that comes true.

  • Nagoya - Studio Ghibli Park

    15 aprile 2024, Giappone ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

At the Ai-Chikyuhaku-Kinen Park, the 2005 Expo was held in Japan. To commemorate this, the park turned into a magical sightseeing park, themed after Studio Ghibli’s World.

Unfortunately the park turned to be a money cash grab for the park curator rather than an experience for the Ghibli’s Fanbase. It didn’t offer the the same magical feeling that the Universal Park radiated.
It was an empty shell of what it should have been.

Per example, access to certain buildings in the park required purchasing a ‘Premium Pass’, which at that day was sold out, from company’s like get-your-guide or even Tripadvisor. In the end you could’ve seen the main attractions, which where rather mild than an enjoyable experience.
But hey, at least you could’ve seen the Oscar that they won for their recent movie ‘The Boy and the Heron’.

Jokes aside, they showed us an exclusive animation featured Film for just the park, which was good. And that was the first time I’ve felt the Studio Ghibli’s Magic again.

Thank you and no Thank you Studio Ghibli Park, I didn’t like you.
