After stocking up with food and diesel in Sarlat we have moved a short distance to the medieval village of Martel belonging to “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France “🇫🇷. Interesting little place full of narrow streets and passage ways plus the architecture that you come to recognise as part of the Dordogne Valley.
In 1183 Henry Court Mantel died here, although that didn’t mean much to me the visit Dordogne website assures us all that he was the elder brother of Richard the Lionheart and I know we have all heard of him.Read more
