    December 27, 2021 in England ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

Oh well here we go again as long as Covid restrictions allow.
Leaving Rudolph behind and putting in a few clothes for Glynis it is time to make our way to Portsmouth.

  • Portsmouth Docks

    December 28, 2021 in England ⋅ 🌬 9 °C

Our Gateway to Europe. If I follow the Motorhome in front he should lead me onto the new ferry Galacia. 🚢
Life on board is like a game of two halves with the first half a very rough sea indeed followed by what can only be described as a mill pond for the remainder of the journey.Read more

  • Santander

    December 30, 2021 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

Bit late arriving in Spain due to bad weather in the Bay of Biscay, so we decided to stay in Santander that evening parked up at the Marina.

  • Salamanca

    December 31, 2021 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 8 °C

Salamanca old town. The sun is shining, the street bars and Cafes are open but above all everybody seems happy. If you find yourself in this area then please have a wander round. It’s very impressive.

  • Badajoz

    January 1, 2022 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

We are less than a half hour from the Portuguese border now, parked in a free parking place dedicated to Motorhomes in a Spanish town called Badajoz. Going to have a look round the town in the morning before moving on (probably have some beer as well). 🍻Read more

  • Camping Albufeira

    January 5, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

About three and a half hours drive from Badajoz to Albufeira including a stop for Diesel and groceries. Pulled into Camping Albufeira to see if space was available and after a quick Covid test we were in and parked complete with a string sack full of oranges 🍊 from the stall outside.Read more

  • Albufeira

    January 6, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

We are in the depths of winter here where the temperatures are struggling to climb above eighteen degrees C at the moment and if you don’t cover up against the weather you get sun burnt.
Off into the old town for beer, beaches and photos.Read more

  • Luz

    January 11, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

A small seaside resort that I think is aimed at the slightly maturing traveler. Just a few Bar/Cafes open at this time of the year (January) but a fantastic beach and a nice lunch in the sunshine complete with half a jug of Sangria 🍷.Read more

  • Lagos Marina

    January 12, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Lagos Marina, lunch at Lazy Jacks.
Golden Years Menu, two courses for ten Euros. Fish, Chips and mushy peas followed by Apple Pie and Ice Cream 🍨 for me.

  • Sagre

    January 13, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ 🌬 14 °C

Have been to Sagre before but wanted to go again to see the big waves and watch the surfers 🏄🏼‍♀️ do their stuff. After leaving drove around the coast to the lighthouse at cape St Vincent, the most westerly part of the European mainland. A really good display of pottery/sculpture depicting different sea creatures there is worth a look.Read more

  • Peniche

    January 17, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Didn’t know what to expect from this little outcrop on the west coast but a very pleasant surprise awaited us, starting with only six euros a night on the camper park.
A surfers paradise and apparently the world championships visit here and I can see why. Big waves even on a calm day.
Truly worth a few days here relaxing and soaking up the sun 🌞 If you bring your bike you can peddle round the coastal path in about one hour.

  • Villa Nova de Gaia

    January 20, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

Just south of Porto and an easy bike ride is the Orbitur campsite of Villa Nova de Gaia just over the road from a sandy beach where you can chill out and watch the setting sun ☀️. Yep just what a weary traveler needs for a few days.Read more

  • Bragança

    January 22, 2022 in Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 2 °C

The old walled town of Bragança. The community keep a place below the castle walls where Motorhomes are allowed to park overnight free of charge. The correct thing to do is put a bit of money their way by purchasing something. For us it was two tickets to the museum. Lots of old weapons and military uniforms and a long walk up the stone stairs to make you suffer for not spending more money.Read more

  • Zamora

    January 23, 2022 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 9 °C

Hello Zamora! It appears that the last time we were here was two years ago on this very date. Going to have a look round this time and no doubt grab a bit of lunch 🥙. I am thinking I will be glad when all this eating is done. Getting a bit full now.Read more

  • Cobreces

    January 25, 2022 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

We are at our final overnight stop before heading for the Ferry in a small Campervan Park in Cóbreces, Cantabria Northern Spain where the Spanish Lady runs the site with a big smile 😊. It’s still January but once again the sun is shining so off we go to the coast for a walk along the cliff tops and watch the Surfers 🏄🏼‍♀️ doing their stuff. Lots of small beaches among the cliffs that appear to be perfect for the Surfers and I can imagine a bit of picnicking as well.Read more
