    Departure

    26 Jun, Switzerland ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

    It's been a while!
But, alas, here we are, back and ready to fly.
This little adventure is leading Luke and me to Dublin, Ireland (no, Steve, not Australia) where we are meeting up with said person and Jasmin. The morning started out strangely energetic. I wasn't the zombie at 4 AM I thought I'd be.
Marching through the rain however... entirely Luke's fault. I would've taken the bus, but instead I was forced to watch it pass us by...

Stay tuned for another update in a few hours, once we arrive. Lets hope my friends like the air bnb I booked, since none of them know what it looks like, hehe.

  • It begins with rain, it ends with rain

    27 Jun, Ireland ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

My post is a little late, since yesterday was packed with more walking, card games and adventure.

After arriving sometime at 8 AM, we spent the next two hours getting a bus to the city and sipping on a chai latte dealing with some beans (a bean card game) until our two travel companions survived driving the car through the city.

Once they were successful and arrived with a car covered in bird poop, we aimlessly walked through Dublin taking in a little cute city with a charme only Ireland knows. We ate lunch in Hard Rock Cafe, where Steve's bad-luck-day continued when he tipped over his drink and more contents landed on the table and subsequently the ground rather than where it was supposed to go.

A doughnut, more card games in a pub and some walking later we went to our cute little air bnb out in the boonies.

Greeted by three dogs, a very nice host and Steve dropping his suitcase, we settled in and I had the most rejuvinating shower ever.

Since Steve seemed carried by bad luck, an adapter couldn't be located and it was only fitting the day ended with a dinner that didn't feel like coming.

We cancelled the order after it had been postponed for over an hour every ten minutes and went to bed a tiny bit hungry.

Good for them calories.... not so good for them nerves. Or at least Steve's nerves.

    Sorry Stevie!

  • Alfea and the best Cupcake ever

    27 Jun, Ireland ⋅ 🌬 21 °C

Today was spent exploring the northern and southern part of Dublin. Starting out with a superb breakfast in Skerries, a small coastal town in the east and a walk along the beach, we continued on through Dublin to the filming place of Winx.

Naturally, since Steve watched the series at least 5 times, he was ready to visit Alfea (Killruddery House) a second time.

My highlight of the day was definitely the divine chocolate-raspberry cupcake I ate there. It might have been a calory bomb but my tastebuds dimmed it worth it.

Since the eve before was spent mostly waiting for food that never came, we turned into a pub in the city and made sure we ate dinner. Enjoying the live music, we went to a fake temple bar and realized the error once we found the real one by chance. And boy was it full! And boy was everyone drunk!

    Including us!

Haha, no, joke. Lil tipsy maybe.

Arriving at our air bnb sometime passed midnight, we ended the day in good spirits.💗

  • Seals and events

    29 Jun, Ireland ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Today we figured another stop in Skerries was in no case a bad idea, so we had breakfast here again. This time in a different restaurant - which wasn't a bad idea per se, but it wasn't as fantastic as the first.

    Still good, none the less!

After revitalizing, we headed out to some cliffs I forgot the names of and spent our time walking along the cliffs and spotting seagulls and seals. Not the navy ones, ha ha.

Jasmin, Steven and Luke definitely looked like they were in their natural habitat doing so.

It was our last stop for the day in Ireland and our flight home was as uneventful as it gets. Our car-ride home, however, is definitely post-worthy.

So first off we drove home and an Italian dude driving an SUV proved that some people are unfit for the streets. We called the police and taddle-taled on him because he nearly caused three accidents driving like an a-hole, excuse my language. Never done that before, but all four of us thought it'd be safer for everyone. It was criminal, I tell ya.

Our second contact with the police came when we saw a bicycle driver lay sprawled out on the ground, unmoving. As a nurse, Steve directly went to help when I stopped the car.
Turns out the guy fell to the ground and hit his head (he bled, too) cause he was drunk.
We waited until the ambulance came, in which time Luke took care of ongoing traffic.
We thought when four police officers showed up that one of them would take over so we could leave, but apparently the police felt like Luke was doing a great job and should continue😂

It took Luke asking twice until one said it was ok for him to leave.

Dropping everyone off at home and a brisk shower later, Luke and I went to bed.

See you in three weeks, when Luke and I venture out to the Philippines!☀️🌊🐚🏝️
