  • Uluru (Ayers Rock)

    9 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Such an amazing sight to see.
    An iconic symbol of Australia.
Seeing it in real life is mindblowing.
We spent the afternoon riding our bikes around it (over 9km)
And what a coincidence that at the caravan park I ran into a friend from school that's also going around Australia for 12 months. Czytaj więcej

  • Uluru Camel Rides

    10 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ 🌬 15 °C

Best experience ever, getting to ride a camel is really amazing.
The feeling of being on their back when standing up is pretty cool, definitely different to anything else I've ever done before.
My camel's name was "Tanamai". He doesn't bite and he's really calm.
This was definitely one of the highlights on my trip so far.

  • Kings Canyon

    11 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

At the start there were a few stairs but when we reached the top we saw a huge canyon.
A 6km hike all around the rim including the Garden of Eden.
The Garden of Eden was a really good spot to have lunch. There were lots of birds, frogs and tropical plants.
It was an appropriate name for a tropical oasis in the middle of a desert.

    Not very big but fascinating.

The broadcast area covers more than 1.3 million square km.
It is known as the worlds biggest classroom and currently has over 125 students.
A few celebrities have visited the school, even the Queen has visited.... and now we have too!

  • Alice Springs, Big 4 MacDonnell Ranges

    13 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

A very expensive park, however this park has been my favorite park yet.
4 pools, one with a huge slide, (the weather wasn't quite warm enough but we still used the slide), 2 jumping pillows and a trampoline. I loved the jumping pillow best. It had 2 playgrounds, half a basketball court, a tiny mountain bike path and every night they would have different activities eg: movie night, live music, didgerido playing, and lots more.
Very pricey but worth the money.

  • Alice Springs, Desert Park

    13 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

This park has lots of different animals, facts, and tours.
We saw Dingos, Emus, Kangaroos and lots and lots of different birds.
The park also has a nocturnal house with lots of animals that you wouldn't see very often such as quolls, bilbies, snakes, rats, and lizards.
At a certain time staff do a bird show that is absolutely AMAZING! You see owls, hawks, eagles and some different local birds the man feeds and does lots of tricks with the birds.

  • Alice Springs, Camel Cup

    15 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Lots of camels trying to win a big shiny trophy is kind of funny to watch, especially when they have to start the race by sitting down.
It's hilarious when one of the camels decide that they don't want to race so they start to run the wrong way.
Apart from seeing the camels race there is also 2 big 'boats' in the desert - one of them is the "Pirates" and the other one is the "Vikings". At the end of all the races the two boats will have a huge water fight.
There is also a parade where all the camel mascots, the 2 little ducks, the camels, and the two boats will all go around the race track.
    I love the camel races.

  • Kakadu

    20 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

We went on a few hikes to see some aboriginal paintings at Ubirr and Nourlangie.
The Bowali Visitors centre had lots of cat fish, turtles and lots more animals.
We learnt a lot of facts throughout the centre about the aboriginal culture.
At the end we watched a video about a man who goes into the bush to fetch crocodile eggs and how he used a helicopter and a cage to collect the eggs.

    21 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Loved this boat tour, so so many crocodiles seen in the wild.
An aboriginal man guided our tour along the East Alligator River in Kakadu. He showed us how the aboriginal people use the plants to make their spears, shields, and medicine. He also took us up onto Arnhem land and showed us how to use a "woomera" to throw a spear. Czytaj więcej

  • Crocodylus Park, Darwin

    24 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

An awesome crocodile farm with hundreds of crocodiles - from babies to ginormous crocs.
Apart from crocodiles this park has meerkats, turtles, lions, wolfs, ponys, monkeys, lizards, and lots more animals.
It also has a show on crocodile feeding, I got to hold a stick with some meat on it out into the middle of a crocodile enclosure and then, all of a sudden, a huge crocodile jumped out of the pool and grabbed the meat off the stick. I can still remember the sound of the huge snap of his jaws.
We got to hold a baby crocodile called "Stapler" and a corn snake called "Abby".
A really interesting and fun park.

  • Darwin, Leanyer Water Park

    26 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 32 °C

Better than the Palmerston water park, it has longer and curlier slides, 1: red slide, you can only go on with 2 people and it's pitch black, 2: blue slide, smaller than the red slide but faster, 3: yellow slide, smallest slide but the fastest slide.
Apart from the slides it has a fairly big pool and a little water play ground. Best water park yet.

  • Darwin Show

    27 lipca 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Pig races, show jumping, show bags, rides, chickens and lots more.
Show bags are kind of expensive, and rides were a rip off but there was lots of shooting gallery games that we don't see at home.
The cats, dogs, cows and all the animals are free to look at. You can also purchase chicks, cats and puppies.
    Love this show.

  • Winton, Age of Dinosaurs

    6 sierpnia 2017, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

At the very start we paid for the three different tours.
First off we did the tour through the laboratory, we saw lots of different bones wrapped up in some sort of plaster called a jacket we saw some workers drilling and brushing off some jackets that were already open.
Secondly we went into the collection room and saw a short video about the findings of "Matilda" and "Banjo". Then a man showed us all the different bones and told us where they come from.
Then we took a bus down to the Dinosaur Canyon. We did some sketches in a little booklet that we got from reception. We saw some trees from prehistoric times and we saw some dinosaur sculptures.

  • Chicken Racing, Winton

    7 sierpnia 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Wow, camel racing then pig racing ... now chicken racing!
The chicken's feathers have been dyed and they are all trained to chase after a remote control car, (which is filled with chicken feed).
There is also an auction which raises funds for a local charity. When we were there we bet $6 on the orange chicken, "Apricot" and $12 on a multi colored chicken named "Diamantina". The prize money was $50. Sadly we didn't win but it's great fun to watch. Czytaj więcej

  • Australian Stockmans Hall of Fame

    9 sierpnia 2017, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Fantastic museum, it tells you all about what a stockman is and what they use.
It has an upper level that tells you all about the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
There are little boards all around the building telling you all about some special stockman from around Australia.
There is also a show that is put on by a stockman. He has 2 dogs, a Kelpie and a Border Collie. He also has a horse, a cow, and a lot of sheep.
I volunteered to hold his horse but the horse took off on me, (it was part of the show- and very funny!)
