Puketi Forest Track

A muddy one! Seriously tough going through the forest today, as it was borderline too wet to make it the whole way through, but we took the risk anyway. First 5kms were beautiful, walking through the stream, but were followed by a pretty hair-raising (and kit testing!) swim across the river and 1000m elevation gain (in 6km) through thick jungle and on narrow, muddy pathways. Listened to a lot of comedy podcasts to keep the sanity, but the views were spectacular, particularly the one of the 4WD track at km 13, which meant an easy final 9kms.
