    Van Gogh felt closest to the common people, the peasants.He couldn't afford to pay models, so he often used his own face to practice his painting.Self portrait.Vincent painted "Almond Blossoms" as a gift to his baby nephew, Vincent Willem (Theo & Jo's son)Vincent and Theo Van Gogh.Theo's wife, Jo, promised to bring Vincent's paintings to the world. She did.
