    This afternoon. we took a walking tour of this surreal German town plunked in Africa. The town has a unique setting between the Namib Desert and the windy South Atlantic coast. While Swakopmund yesterday felt lively and charming, Luderitz today felt like being in a time warp. Now, it was Sunday, and the town was dead, which may have contributed to our impression.
