We woke up in Burnie this morning and had arranged a private tour to take us to a wildlife park as well as see the scenery around Burnie. We met our tour guide Sue, and were pleasantly surprised to learn that there were no other people coming on the tour, so it was just the three of us. We were delighted! Sue is originally from Melbourne and moved to Tasmania 13 years ago and has been a tour guide for the last year. She was incredibly knowledgable and flexible in terms of things we wanted to do today.
We saw a great deal of the countryside and had an appreciation for how much farmland there is here as well as how diverse the landscape is. It’s beautiful. At the wildlife park our number one goal was to see Tasmanian devils. They did not disappoint. The park also had an area for kangaroos, and we had an opportunity to feed them yet again.Read more
