The Colosseum

What a wonderful start to our holiday……the Colosseum
The Vatican, Trafalgar Bus Tour

Walked more or less straight in past massive queues. Saw the Sistene Chapel, loved Peter’s Basilica and especially the Swiss guards.
Rome Old Town

Such busy chaotic streets, cars and people mingling everywhere.
Pompeii

Walked the streets of Pompeii, everything is preserved pretty much as life was back in the day
Amalfi Coast and Positano

Beautiful coastal scenery on the way to Positano. The town itself was quaint and very steep. People living here would have to be fit.
Isle of Capri, Italy

Did a boat cruise around the less inhabited and more natural part of the island. Very different to the upmarket, trendy side.
Isle of Capri

Caught a funicular railway to the top. Some very expensive, elite shops up there. Amazingly it hailed just before we left and then the sun came back out.
Assisi

Impressive Monastery Town where St Francis is entombed.
Venice

Loved Venice, the gondola ride was fantastic, bucket stuff.
Venice Italy

The narrow alley ways were fascinating, a trip back in time.
Venice, Italy

Just loved it here!!!
Burano Island, Venice

Every house a different colour, such a bright vibrant place. Had an amazing 5 coarse seafood meal here too.
Lake Maggiore

Beautiful lakes area, much preferred Lake Maggiore to Lake Como. The hotel grounds and views from the hotel were pretty spectacular too.
Borromean Island, Lake Maggiore

The Palace on Borromean Island was all you can expect from a palace. The rooms spectacularly decorated and the gardens including white peacocks were really something else.
Leaning Tower of Pisa

Yes the tower is definitely leaning over
Florence

Spent the morning walking Florence and some time out for us in the afternoon
San Gimignano

Amazing little old town we stopped in, very touristy but lovely
Vienna City Walk

A 2 1/2 hour walking tour of the city. Sooo many old ornate beautiful buildings. They just kept coming and coming.
Danube Valley

A bus and boat ride in the Danube Valley stopping at a small village called Durnstein and then at Melk Abbey. The scenery was so green and the river flowed so fast, Melk Abbey has been beautifullyもっと詳しく
Schonnbrunn Palace

Disappointed I wasn’t well enough to go, Peter went by himself. Both the guide and the palace was amazing he said and the gardens seemed to go forever.
Salzburg

After a first day of continual drizzle, our second day was beautiful and sunny.
Fortress Hohensalzburg

Not feeling great but we still managed to enjoy seeing the fortress. It was like a trip back in time.
Munich Old Town

A fascinating walking tour of the old town of München
The Residenz (Palace)

Did a self guided tour of the Residenz which is huge.
Zurich Switzerland

A bus ride, walking tour, ferry trip and a cable car ride all combined to make a great afternoon.
