• Arzua Ferreiros and Lavacolla

    June 23 in Spain ⋅ ☁️ 35 °C

It is just too hot. To sit still, let alone walk over 20km each day. But it's over! Only 10 to go in the morning and I will be in the square in Santiago experiencing the feeling of arriving there again. Yesterday from Sobrado to Arzua was along tarmac roads mainly. They radiate stored heat as well as being punishingly hard on the feet.
After an early lunch in Arzua I decided that the taxi rank outside the cafe was a sign, so we cheated on the last 7km which would have made it nearly 30. The hostel was lovely until we filled it with moskitoes by opening a window, so a disrupted night. Today was a nice walk in woods mostly, on the trail shared with the french and Primitivo routes. It's very crowded when large groups doing the last 100km come through, but by now we have worked out how to time it to avoid them. Today's hotel is lovely, 4 poster bed, huge room and coolish. The windows are staying closed and smelly backpacks and shoes in the bathroom with the door shut! The picture of the stone is actually a very loud frog.
