Beautiful 31km walk

Today was one of the prettiest so far. We left Belorado before dawn and walked up through the forest stopping at a place called Espinosa for coffee, fresh juice and some cake to take away. It was aもっと詳しく
旅行者It looks like you are a third way there on your trip? Amazing you are talking about your next trip already. The first plant (although I know you are waiting for the Botanist) looks like a camassia alba but I couldn’t see clearly the purple flowers with the poppies. Camassias tend to naturalise once planted. Looks lovely but looking forward to seeing coastline. Xx

First day on the meseta

Which for those of you who don't know, is the enormous plateau that covers most of central Spain, from La Mancha south of Madrid to the mountains just north of us here. In my experience it is eitherもっと詳しく

After the heat yesterday we got up really early and walked 19km to the first cup of coffee through beautiful fields of wheat and poppies. We found a place with carrot cake for breakfast and kept onもっと詳しく
旅行者Perhaps it’s worth producing a source book for vegetarians who will travel the same route? I think across Europe temperatures are exceptionally high although becoming more the norm alas. Great panoramic views and must be motivational on your journey.

We started later (7am) today as it was grey skies and about 10c cooler which suits me fine. Fiona's hands turned white though and she has spent most of the day cold.

旅行者As a suggestion to relieve aching feet and body try and get hold of some magnesium sulphate either in a foot bath or bath. Did say it was worth using surgical spirits before the walk although sounds like your shoes have given you some protection. Wishing you a peaceful sleep in your hotel room.
