Yogjakarta

Yogjakarta è una città molto grande e viva do Java. Ho passato qui gli ultimi 3.5 giorni, di cui in parte con Pauline, la ragazza francese che avevo conosciuto a Malang.
A Yogjakarta faceva molto (troppo) caldo e quindi era molto stancante stare in giro, infatti non ho mai riempito le giornate con troppe attività.

Ero in un’ostello molto sociale, dove c’era gente di tutto il mondo, per un prezzo stracciato dove c’era inclusa la colazione e la cena nel prezzo. La proprietaria è una persona molto carina che ha tantissime conoscenze e consigli, e soprattutto è un’amante dei serpenti - ogni sera porta i suoi piccoli di pitone all’ostello così che gli ospiti li possano ammirare e tenere in mano. Devo dire che all’inizio avevo molta paura, ma per finire è stato molto divertente 😜

Il primo giorno siamo andati a visitare il tempio Induista Borobudur, un tempio molto carino e famoso nella regione.
Per preservare questo tempio ti danno delle ciabatte di paglia da mettere ai piedi così che il tempio non si rovini.
Alla sera spontaneamente abbiamo deciso di viaggiare in scooter per un’ora e andare a vedere il Merapi in eruzione, uno dei vulcani più attivi in Indonesia. E siamo stati fortunatissimi, perchè abbiamo visto diverse piccole eruzioni. È stata un’esperienza spettacolare!

Il secondo giorno ho fatto un giro in un negozio di Batik, per i quali Yogjakarta è molto famosa - si tratta di una tecnica dove si fa un disegno con la cera d’api sulla stoffa, poi si pittura con i colori e alla fine si rimuove la cera, così che si formani i disegni che si desidera.
Mi sono poi incontrata con Pauline e abboamo gustato un gelato alla famosa gelatoria Tempo Gelato, dove si mangiano dei gelati fantastici!
Infine al pomeriggio abbiamo fatto un workshop per creare un anello in argento! È stata una bellissima esperienza, gli anelli che abbiamo fatto sono uscito bellissimi ed è stato davvero interessante imparare un po le varie tecniche per creare i gioielli in argento.
Dopodichè ci siamo salutate perché Pauline continuava in direzione di Batukaras mentre io sono stata ancora un giorno a Yogjakarta.
La sera sono finita in un ristornate locale, dove ho mangiato il Gudeg, uno stufato di Jackfruit che era buonissimo (e soprattutto non costava niente, 50cts)!

Il mio terzo ed ultimo giorno l’ho passato assieme a dei ragazzi Italiani e come prima tappa siamo andati a vedere le danze tipiche Javanesi al palazzo Kraton, il palazzo del sultano.
Dopodichè abbiamo fatto un giro nel quartiere di Kasongan, famoso per le ceramiche e abbiamo passeggiato per dei negozi dove vendevano dei vasi e delle sculture bellissime, ma purtroppp troppo grandi da poter prendere a casa😂.
Infine alla sera siamo andati a vedere il tramonto ad un view point com una vista bellissima sul Merapi e su Yogjakarta, dove c’era anche musica dal vivo.

Sono state dei giorni molto belli e ora sono pronta per prendere il treno e andare in direzione di Jakarta.

Yogjakarta is a very large and alive city in Java. I spent the last 3.5 days here, partly with Pauline, the French girl I met in Malang.
In Yogjakarta it was very (too) hot and therefore it was very tiring to be around, in fact I never filled my days with too many activities.

I was staying in a very social hostel, where there were people from all over the world, for a bargain price with breakfast and dinner included in the price. The owner is a very nice person who has a lot of knowledge and advice, and above all she is a snake lover - every evening she brings her baby pythons to the hostel so that guests can admire them and hold them. I must say that at the beginning I was very scared, but in the end it was a lot of fun 😜

On the first day we went to visit the Borobudur Hindu temple, a very nice and famous temple in the region.
To preserve this temple they give you straw slippers to put on your feet so that the temple doesn't get ruined.
In the evening we spontaneously decided to travel by scooter for an hour and go and see the erupting Merapi, one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. And we were very lucky, because we saw several small eruptions. It was a spectacular experience!

On the second day I took a look at a Batik shop, which Yogjakarta is very famous for - it's a technique where you make a drawing with beeswax on the fabric, then paint it with colors and finally removes the wax, so that the designs you want are formed.
I then met up with Pauline and we enjoyed an ice cream at the famous Tempo Gelato ice cream shop, where you can eat fantastic ice creams!
Finally in the afternoon we did a workshop to create a silver ring! It was a wonderful experience, the rings we made came out beautiful and it was really interesting to learn a little about the various techniques for creating silver jewellery.
Afterwards I said goodbye because Pauline continued in the direction of Batukaras while I stayed in Yogjakarta for one more day.
In the evening I ended up in a local restaurant, where I ate Gudeg, a Jackfruit stew which was delicious (and above all it didn't cost anything, 50cts)!

My third and last day I spent with some Italian guys and as a first stop we went to see the typical Javanese dances at the Kraton palace, the sultan's palace.
Afterwards we took a tour of the Kasongan district, famous for ceramics and we walked through some shops where they sold beautiful vases and sculptures, but unfortunately too big to take home😂.
Finally in the evening we went to see the sunset at a view point with a beautiful view of Merapi and Yogjakarta, where there was also live music.

They have been some very beautiful days and now I am ready to take the train and go towards Jakarta.Läs mer
