旅行者Way back in 1962 our family moved back from Mannheim Germany to the USA after dad finished out his 2 year contract with the government as an engineer. Mom was terrified of flying so we took a ship back to the USA. I remember Dad rounding up the whole family on deck to see the white cliffs of Dover. As a WWII vet he explained that when the troops saw Dover, they felt safe. There was even a popular song about them at the time.
旅行者The song you are thinking of is called White Cliffs of Dover. That song was one my mom used to sing to us as kids as it was popular for her during the war. It was the main reason I wanted to see the cliffs for myself.
