Kaumana Cave (Lava Tube)

Hawaii is amazing. We did a road trip in a loop (it’s an island so isn’t everything a loop?) and part way our GPS tour guide, who we now called Doug, suggested we pull off to view a lava tube. We did and saw this incredible lava tube less than 10 feet from the road! What a surprise. Doug said the tube was over 20 miles long. Go as far as you want to risk it. No lights, no tour guide and very limited signage. It was such a change to be in a place without “adult supervision” or a parking and ticket taker.
