Arrived in time for a farmers market, so some food shopping before heading off to air BnB. All settled in to lovely homely place.

First full day to explore the area. So much to choose from. Today set to be hottest of our time here so settled on exploring and swimming in Lake Castle in the morning. Snow still melting so water pretty cold but also came across warm patches. Warm 30 degrees helped dry us out.
Did some shopping in town (so many crystal shops). Back to our cosy house for cooked lunch the to Sacramento Headwaters.

    June 30, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 36 °C

Great place to be during hottest time of day. Used to be a bank. They saved it from demolition.
Exhibition of local architecture Hugh Kaptur. His Palm Springs cliff houses especially impressive. Many never got built we suspect cost was astronomical. Has done many other buildings here commercial and civic. The gift shop is the bank vault they’ve kept the door.
We are becoming regulars at the local
    Gelato shop.

  • Indian Canyons Seven Sisters Falls

    July 1, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 35 °C

Up earlish to find walking trail to seven sisters falls. Not far but GPS sent us on a route around the city so didn’t start walk until 9.10am. Only shade along the creek with the 2 mile track very hilly in parts and about half not along creek
So in full sun. An hour and three quarters in with many stops to wet out hats and shawls in the creek. A recent storm and hot spell meant falls not very big but still some desert flowers and many dragon flies, birds and tiny frogs.
Soaking feet in the cool water was divine.
Only an hour and 10 minutes to return thankfully to car with very efficient air conditioning and extra cold water in boot. Lunch and dip in pool very welcomed.
