Raving about Rovaniemi

Today we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast before checking out to move on to our last stop in Lapland, the Arctic Snow Hotel. We had a bit of time to kill so enjoyed a coffee break in the hotel coffee shop, popping out now and then to enjoy the snow that had started falling again. It was lovely waking up to the streets once again covered in snow.

Rovaniemi is such a lovely town, especially when sprinkled with snow. There are some lovely shops to explore, lovely restaurants to try and while the buildings themselves are definitely built for the weather and not for looks, the shop displays, the decorations and lights make it look very special.

Little did we realise our 7 min walk to the pick up point would not be so pleasant as the snow fell snd the temperature dropped. Thankfully we didn’t have too long to wait for our driver to our next stop.Read more
