Day 5 Leavenworth to Chelan

58.12 miles, 3272”. Today we reached the leeward side of the Cascades and the scenery made a dramatic change. The mountain slopes are dry and dotted with a few trees and vegetation. Along the roadways we passed many apple orchards, as well as cherries and pears. It reminded of the pecan groves on the southern tier. Our lunch stop was at Entiat City Park on Lake Entiat, a man made lake on the Columbia River. There was a long scenic climb before a descent into Chelan, another tourist town on Lake Chelan.Baca lagi
