    Downtown

    July 12, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Wetttttt! I took a bath downtown! First a few drops, everyone walking in the light rain. It actually felt good and cooling. Then it got a little heavier. No one here carries an umbrella. They started sheltering under awnings and in the entrances to stores. I deployed my umbrella, my defensive shield and kept walking. Everyone was cowering under the awnings but I was walking, all the way to the edge of downtown. And then the floodgates opened. My small umbrella protected my head, barely. Everything else got wet. The cobblestone streets became rivers. I left my room without putting my water shoes on. Big mistake. My leather shoes are soaking wet. The worst part is when you want to cross the street from sidewalk to sidewalk. The water was ankle deep at its shallowest. Wow, as I said earlier I took a bath downtown. Of course, on my way back el hombre y perro were gone.

It poured for 30 minutes, then stopped, and everyone left their shelters under the awnings and started walking again on their way to the restaurants or on their way home - Bassam
