    Oslo Airport

    An early start to avoid rush hour and angst. Had so much time at airport. Breakfast and meeting up with the other club members.

    Flight was delayed slightly but not enough to ruin our plan of catching an earlier train to Lillehammer.

    Flight was smooth. But hot. My sinuses dried up like on a long haul. Not to worry did some meditation. Which helped. Glad I ordered the stupidly expensive flight meal. Tasty and keeping me going until we arrive.

    Lillehammer!!!!

    Just me in .y wee room. It's nice and cool. I have a view of the railway. Tomorrow morning I will be up for breakfast and out to the shops. Ski shops! Cinnamon bun shops! And maybe if I'm lucky I can find a tomte and possibly a pair of earrings.

    I had a huge salad for tea. Lovely fresh and not too heavy. Couldn't face the bean stew. Others were tucking into meatballs. Jnwould.love the menu. I bet he would have chosen the moose stew.

    R and I sat at the veggie end of the table.

    I think it's windy out. As there is a gusty sound or it's Aircon. My ears are singing. I'm tired.

    Wandering Lillehammer

    Good wander around Lillehammer. Didn't make it up to Olympic Park. Saw the ski jumps from afar. No photo though.

    Prepping myself for stupid long bus trip to Venabu Fjellhotel.

    Day 1

    2.5.hours.out in the snow. We started in fog and finished in the sun.

    I had an awful night. Thought I was coming down with a great fever. Late dinner, hot hotel, chronic fatigue, too much coffee?

    Anyway. I skied. The first wee bit felt so difficult but after two hours, yippee. Up hills. Whoosh downhills. Don't tell J!

    Now resting. Did a bit yoga. Might go for a wander outside.

    Oh my oh my. Phew. Nothing left in my tank. Had to eat a bit cake while I was taking my boots off.

    I did repeat a few hills for the thrill. Fell over going up!

    Rest Day

    Did not doing anything today. Just lazed about. Some chatting to others. Some dozing in room. Weather poor first thing. Wind cold low visibility.

    After lunch put me togs on and wandered down to the shop for a look around and expensive purchases.

    Talbot's Tours...

    The fit bunch went off again. I went out with Sophie. We did about 5km. Go us.

    Some bits tricky as wind had blown snow over the tracks. Quite hard going. But we made it all the way back.

    Our pace was good!!!

    Last Day. Do or Die

    Made it to the other hotel for a bun. Much faster than Monday. Guess I have better technique now and more stamina.

    Better keep this up when I get home. Roller round that track. No stopping for an hour. Easier not to stop when it's 3k no repeats though.Read more

    Solo Afternoon

    I could have got a train into Oslo and wandered for hours. But. I really don't have the energy or inclination for that. Also, it has just started to rain. Another time I may delay flight for a day and do it that way.

    Anyhoo. 3 hour bus down from the mountains. It was bit foggy so I confess I dozed off. We left a great skiing day behind us. And 2 of our group who were off to a resort near Lillehammer to ski with their sons.

    So....I'll rest a while. Maybe walk to aircraft museum, come back, check in and have a beer.

    Long bus trip down from Venabu to Oslo. I opted not to go into the city for the afternoon. Instead I took myself around the air museum while waiting to check in. It was a mushy walk in the rain.

    After I lay on the bed channel hopped for a bit then left a radio station on in background while I read and ate the remainder of my lunch and snacks.    Read more

    Home Again

    Woke at 3:45. Got up and had a shower.
    Wandered down to help yourself breakfast. Others arrived pretty soon after. Not easy to sleep when there's a 7:25am flight to catch.

    We wandered up to cheap bus (2 mins walk = half price of shuttle bus) for 5:14.

    Got to airport, checked in, cleared security. Bag double checked! Again. Coffee. Passport. Stroll up to gate. Short wait. Saunter on. Sleep for 2 hours. Landed early. Cleared passports collected bags through customs and off.

    Arrived here at 11:16. Washing on. Dogs have had carrots. Now outside drinking coffee. No snow. 🥺 A whole week until roller skiing.

    Also, someone was a stowaway... I wonder how Torgeir will enjoy Yorkshire?    Read more
