Albergue Los Templarios

Day 21/40 A glorious day walking today. Left my room at 6.30am and after a coffee and toast hit the road my headlamp on following other pilgrims out of town. They quickly got away from me and I was completely alone. I could barely see them using the phone as a torch in the distance. Then I couldn’t see anything at all. Pitch black out there. No street lights, no sounds. Very misty and foggy and just me clip clopping along with my poles. I turned off my lamp for a minute and I could imagine what it is like to be blind. I had to search for the yellow arrows a couple of times not really sure which direction to go in. I was out there for the pink skies beginning to light up and then the sun rising through the mist. So beautiful. Long long way through what seems like a desert but is just barren wheat fields. Very little services. Kept my breaks to a minimum as I was looking forward to the afternoon recovering in the sun on the front lawn of Albergue Los Templarios that I remember from last year.
