Just getting round to postíng as have been catching up on sleep and chilling. I think the Maldive Islands have to be some of the most beautiful places on earth!

All good here. Lots of chilling, chatting, eating and drinking....First picture is people walking far out to sea...I think opposite our villa you could walk as far as the horizon...picture two is zoomed in x 10 and you can just see them!Leggi altro

Another lovely day in paradise. I walked out towards the aquamarine of the horizon this morning and the water still just varied between ankle and knee depth. It is hard to get the perspective in the photo and challenging to keep walking through the water. This afternoon we saw a shoal of beautiful angel fish...oh and a couple of sharks again.Leggi altro

  • Day 12...I think

    10 febbraio 2025, Maldive ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

Further chilling over the last few days. We met some lovely friends from Cornwall but they went home extremely early on Sunday morning. I am not quite sure how they managed to stay up so late on Saturday night.
We went on a second snorkeling trip yesterday afternóon but the water wasnt quite as clear and we definitely saw more on the first one. We had a lovely sunny morning and we walked to the other end of the island where the sea meets the lagoon. (It is a very small island). You can also see the uninhabited part of the island from here. We followed this with a bit of sharking about then lunch.. This afternoon we had a torrential downpour so we watched the rain and read our kindles.

The reef sharks are very shy. I only looked up dangerous marine life in the Maldives after my final swim. My only regret is not having an underwater camera. The other animals of note are the hermit crabs, the flying foxes, and beautiful ghekkos! The main thing that will remain in my memory is the different shades of the sea and the morning over the Indian Ocean...there are just not enough superlatives ...Leggi altro
