It just so happens…

Sali Mali and Le Petit Prince, signing in.
So today I awoke to the gentle miaowing of a cat, yet I remained half asleep because the meowing was a bit relaxing.
However the cat then decided to take one big leap and land on my tummy, effectively shocking me into the land of the living.
But it was ok because BB is my favourite cat ever and I picked her up once and she was soooo cute so I forgive her. She went over to hug Izzy which was adorbs.
And that’s how I woke up, so I was kind of in a good mood. However, no one else was properly awake, so I grabbed one of the books on Izzy‘s bedside table, and began to read like the good old days.
Although I did want to check the time and so I grabbed my watch that was on my bedside table and it said it was 5 to 7 in the morning and I was like whaaaaat?
But it turned out that my watch had just stopped for like two hours in the night and I don’t know why.
But quite a bit later when BB, a cat after my own heart, started trying to eat the Maltesers, and so Izzy had to get up properly to stop her. We chilled in bed a little more like the teenagers that we are, before eventually getting up with a quick thought to Alice with her math test, and went downstairs to get some breakfast. I consumed very Izzy themed food (aka Nutella on toast) whereas Izzy and Andrea had a bacon sandwich.
After breakfast I was really happy because Izzy said she would do my hair with beads in it like Alice has and she has which I’ve been waiting for for a month so I was really happy about that. However that did sadly mean that we couldn’t do flower crowns like we planned to do with Jill.
While Izzy was doing my hair, I read Lord of the Rings out loud which was kind of funny because the writing is so old-fashioned and Jill actually said that I should have the job of a professional reader like on BBC or something so Jill is now my favourite hehe.
But then the time came to pack up our bags and move on to our next adventure, which was having high tea with Granny and Terry. It was recommended by Jill and Izzy that I wear my swaggy new dress jacket that I got from IzFiz, so of course I did.
After, like, excessive complications, we finally found our way to granny’s house. Before going to high tea, we had some time, and granny and Terry went to have a nap and Andrea and I watched some hit list before watching even more Taylor Swift videos and when Terry got up, I did make him watch a few because he is going to be a Swiftie by Christmas. Certified.
But then we did have to go to the Cliff Hotel for high tea, and we went on a quick stroll beforehand so that we could be properly freezing, as is the British way.
We did show up early and we did tell them it was my birthday even though it wasn’t but it was exactly a month since my birthday so that was good enough. When they brought us the tea there was like an excessive amount, look at the pics. We did not manage to finish it all because there was, as previously mentioned, an excessive amount, and to top it all off they did bring me some swaggy birthday brownies that sadly I could not finish or even start.
And after the Cliff Hotel, we were picked up by Jill, and along with Izzy and Alice, we went to the Urdd centre. We suited and booted, as my swaggy mum would say, and then headed out onto the slopes. Now that sounds really cool, but remember, we are absolute beginners who can barely stand up on the board. We looked like fools.
Well, I did. The others kind of slayed.
We actually did pretty well this time, we were doing a different kind of snowboarding where we were facing down the mountain and I feel like I succeeded, as shown in the video below. And of course at the end, we had the arbitrary sitting down race which once again I did not win.
Afterwards we went to get changed and since it was the day before Izzy‘s birthday and she didn’t have work tomorrow, they dimmed the lights and brought out a cake and we all sang happy birthday. I said goodbye to Alice since she had a swimming lesson, and I also said hello and goodbye to Paul which was really weird.
Oh, beeteebubbleyous, I was reunited with my phone! My long lost love of my life!!
Izzy and Jill then drove us back to Granny‘s house, which we found with perhaps more ease than the previous time, and after a sad and heartfelt goodbye, Andrea and I headed inside to watch an episode of Hit List (which was incredibly impressive since lil’ bro was like, super knowledgeable in songs), and then we played our final game of canasta.
This was ultimately a terrible choice since we were absolutely destroyed by the opposition. Indeed, we were quite equal in the first round, this did not change the ultimate outcome because for every single other round, we did not have enough points in our hand to get onto the table for about 90% of the game. This guaranteed our ultimate loss.
In case you haven’t noticed, ultimate (and it’s variations) is my new favourite word.
Andrea and I then retired to the cabin for the night with great sadness linked with our loss, and began to organise our bags since our clothes were just a pile on the floor, but never actually finished. In our defence we were interrupted by calls from our respective parents. However, I got very annoyed with Mum who was completely ignoring me and everything I said, and just ended up hanging up.
A while later, we turned out the lights and Andrea was annoyingly tired, but that did not change the fact that she was subjected to my existential questions that travel through my brain late at night when I lie to myself about how tired I am. In fact, I am writing this now as the light is off and she is asleep, or not really writing because as you may or may not have guested I am actually doing this as a speech to text sort of thing to make my blog job easier so she can hear exactly what I’m saying. And I’m certain it’s quite annoying.
Oh well!
Honorary mention today is for Antonio, the “just so happens” waiter, who we did not actually see at the cliff hotel, but who was definitely there in spirit.
