I’d pick you up and we’d go back in time

Sali Mali and Le Petit Prince, signing in.
For the last time.
I am writing this on December 1st, listening to Christmas music but still my mind wanders to halloween. I think of October and I think of this journey and I come to the realisation that I did not, in fact, write a blog for the very last day.
Which just won’t do.
So I am jogging my terrible memory to try and give a recap of what happened.
We woke up ridiculously early and I mean ridiculously, like 5am or something. We made sure our bags were packed and measured and then made it downstairs for some burning hot peppermint tea, before saying goodbye to Ali who nicely got up supes early to see us off.
We also had to do the mandatory passport check in the car, an Ali Tradition, started after an incident that seems obvious. A passport was forgotten.
Damn drove us to the airport and we must have been delirious because I remember some crazy conversations that I think involved cannibalism at McDonalds, and eating dinosaurs? Or dinosaurs eating you? And eating deer or something?? I don’t know. Anyway.
We made it to the airport and saw the swinging donkey again, and Dann walked us into the boarding area where he could not get in. A funny pic was taken because some lady walked in front of the camera and Andrea and I were waiting for her to leave but Dann just took the picture then and that was it.
It was easier all the way through till the end. Easy peasy, put all your bags in the scanner, take nothing off or out, get some breakfast, wait for our flight, wait some more, wait a bit more, hang on. We’ve waited an awful lot and where is our gate that they have been saying is loading for twenty minutes??
So while we wait this is a hood time to say that the weather has been so good while we were here, that it was sunny in every day except for travelling ones which did not matter. It was mental! Menty B as tate and I would say!!
Ah, our gate is up. So we walk over, stand behind a woman who looks freakily like my most hated math teacher, and then pass.
But wait! We can never have an easy travel. Our bags, that we measured, were too big, and we had to pay a fine. This seemed ridiculous because they were well within the size requirements on the tickets so I don’t understand what happened.
But at least we got to put our bags in the overhead (despite them literally fitting in the carry on under seat section like wtf) and had more foot room. On the plane, we got nice seats but the lady sat next to us saw us coming, looked us up and down, and calls over a flight hostess asking to change seats. On what grounds?? I mean I didn’t mind because we had a bit more space but still??
Anyway we chilled for the flight and I bopped right out to T swizz and I really mean that, the lady opposite us was laughing at my dramatic dancing.
(Oh also on the flight I took a pic of one of the attendants because bro’s gyatt was gyatting)
But then we arrived and rejoined my long lost family!! Mum slayed in her new fit and my sisters were très happy to see us, and Dad seemed neutral and made a sarcastic comment about me only saying I needed the toilet once we had passed every single toilet in the building. I guess that was fair though.
On the drive home, Andrea was so tired that she was just quiet the whole time but I was full of Squister Sid the Sloth energy!! So we yacked about everything, and before we knew it, we were home and Andrea was being dropped off and then we were back at our house, and that was it folks!
It was so much fun though. I was quite sad that the trip was over, actually.
And so the honorary mention of course goes to all of those who organised this trip, Ali, Dann, Dex I guess, Granny, Terry, Izzy and Jill, Alice too why not, and of course Mum and Dad and my sisters, and obviously the fantastic and amazing Andrea Janthony Boucharel. And also myself because why not.
