Straightforward run through security and passport control, waving our Covid pass as we breeze past. Lots of people, just like pre- covid times.

We're on the train and we're off to Paris. It's a lovely day weather-wise, out with the cheese rolls, wine and chocolate, on with the earphones. A medley on the jukebox today - the Doves, Bat for Lashes, Velvet Underground, Eminem, Black Sabbath.Read more

We are staying at our favourite hotel Jardin de Cluny. It has had a major refurb and looks fab but is now a 4 star establishment and has the price tag to go with it. Short pit stop then a walk to the Jacquemart Andre museum to see an exhibition by a Finnish artist Gallen-Kinsella.Read more

Luxembourg Gardens

Another beautiful day. Breakfast then we walked to the Luxembourg Gardens. A stroll around these lovely gardens - gardeners out in force, everything having a power wash - then headed into the gallery. Downside quite busy, upside terrific exhibition Female Artists in 20s Paris. More than we expected. We're going back when we return in May.Read more

The original plan was to go to the Musee d'Orsay but the weather was so lovely it seemed a shame to waste it. So we meandered along the streets of Paris until we arrived at our hotel.

Oh dear it doesn't get any better at the Gare du Nord. Grit teeth until finally we are on the train ready for our meal - and some wine....Read more
