Pretty amazing place in retrospect. Massive airport very far from town. Hostel in the Taksim Square neighborhood. Pretty crappy but met some great guys.
1 Welsh cop, an Algerian, a Moroccon and a German/Moroccon, Pakistani. Had a great time just walking the city with open beers and hitting up food stands. All super kind hearted guys. Played the dice game. Did a lot of solo walks/bus/ferries and general tours guided and self guided. Drank a bit much, stayed out late, woke up late but worked out almost daily at a great gym.
One night with the $5000 bill that I had to run from. Lost my Tilley hat, my travel backpack and some minor items on the run to the airport. Swore off drinking in Israel.Read more
