King's Castles

Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein, "Mad" King Ludwig's famous castles. The first is actually the older one, where he actually grew up. The second is his more famous "fairytale castle project," and was the inspiration for the castle in Sleeping Beauty. Although newer, it was built over the ruins of an older medieval castle (Hohenschwangau was also built on top of an older site).
