2023 Thailand

Lost Lynda. She passed on September 29th at 7:30pm. The world lost a bright light and I lost my soulmate. Next life hon, you don't get out that easy and you still owe me 50 years. and since I can't collect in this life? Clock starts over in the next.

I needed to leave Colorado, the last few months of Lynda's extraordinary life were not much short of horrific for me. I stumbled across an article about Thailand and remembered I wanted to dive there when Lynda and I first were introduced to Scuba, and I put that on an old bucket list that I had floating around in the ether world.

I setup dive plans, places to stay nearby the dive shop I picked as they had rave reviews. (and they were appropriate). and what I just kind of ignored?

Patong is THE Party town in Phuket. I don’t drink but it was fun as hell to watch especially the Aussies. Drunken Russians were fun to watch as well. But I needed to get away from the house and reset my place in the world. Spent 3 weeks diving, walking the beaches, smoking a LOT of grass on the beach, which was and remains legal. It was what I needed. and it showed me that I still enjoyed diving.

Lynda and I once had a conversation, if it were me, and I were to go, what is it we do now that you probably wont do after? for her? skiing. She said it is more my sport than hers, but she would definitely dive and do photography. For me? wasnt sure about scuba after she passed and this was the test of my desire to dive.

I am now looking at volunteering for marine conservation sites across the globe and see if that works or not. Lowers the cost of diving and place to stay in places such as Thailand, Philippines, Fiji, Costa Rica. Not sure if I will like it that much or not, but exploring it puts a smile on my face. I like the idea of helping critters under the ocean... will see if that idea becomes a true interest or not.
