Well this is a wedding trip, so there needs to be a "Hen Do”. The ladies made their way up one of the very steep hills behind Beau Vallon Beach to “Roots” to design and make sarongs. Thankfully we had a mini bus taxi to take us up but even that couldn’t get us to the top - the Roots guy came to collect us in his smaller car.
Roots was fantastic - spectacular views back down over the beach and a great Rasta vibe run by Ras Tony, a very cool dude indeed.
Sha discussed families with Ras Tony and he explained that everyone is family "we are all brothers and sisters”. After collecting various leaves, flora and fauna from the area around the Roots site (with resident Giant Tortoise) we set about the Sarong Sun printing process. Decide on the layout, the leaves and flowers making the pattern, pin them down, paint, then wait. The sun does its thing. and when dry we remove the debris and voila! we have sarong’s and plenty of beaches to wear them on!
A really chilled and lovely way to have a Hen Do!Read more
