    Saturday at the Surfrider

    September 17, 2016 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Spent a lazy day exploring the historic Moana Surfrider at Waikiki, constructed in 1916. It was the first resort to be built in Waikiki, and a preferred destination for Hawaiian royalty. The resort retains its olde worlde charm, including excellent table service of high teas and elegant dining.
The second floor of the building houses an excellent historic museum which tells the story of the origin of surfing. The original building is magnificent, and a definite favourite for Japanese brides. I saw at least six while I was there for the final three days of my holiday.
