After dropping little (trembling) Charlie off with kennels, we got the bus into chester, had a swifty in the town crier, then the train to Liverpool South parkway and the bus to the airport. At the airport I started to panic that the taxi would have the wrong location and I was right. Uneventful flight then met our driver who couldn't take us as predicted so booked an uber @ 35 euros. Day 2 - getting to know local area

Walked the boardwalk west for half an hour. Had a cheap beer stop (£3) then a wine and some lovely sardines on the beach. Back to the pool for a swim, then across the road for some supplies and a beer with some expats. Back to get ready with some music then walked through the Max bar and then had grilled bream and a lovely seafood salad. Day 3 - the nightowls come out

Had some pool time, then went for a wander. In the evening Mark needed a grampa nap, then rejuvenated we got a cab to la calas de mijas where there was a food market in the square and a live band. Had some grub and a chouffe and watched the rock n roll band. We had been 'out out'Read more

Day 4 Spain v England

More pool and book time, then a speed walk to the cheap bar. Joined the Spanish families for lunch then back to refresh. Walked into la Calas (half hour), just in time for the game on the square. Day 5 - a quiet one

Just chilled really. Thought about Marbella, but the bus journey looked a little convoluted. Day 6 - Cabopino walk

Decided to walk west after the Scots told us about the Marina. It took just over an hour and we passed through a little Dunes nature reserve and saw some 'sea daffodils'. Arrived at the Cabopino marina (now in Marbella district) which was lovely. Had a tiny tapas (raw sardine on toast, yum), then walked back. Had some pool time, packed our bags and had a final meal on the front before bed.Read more

Day 7 - time to go home

Uber lift to the airport. Malaga airport is lovely, but the queue to boarding was ridiculous. Decent flight back, straight onto the south parkway bus, a shortish wait for the train to chester, then 15 minutes for our bus home (all for £17!). Were able to pick Charlie up at the Griffin pub, then had a drink at the Penybont on Mold and saw the 4paws Inn van there (remember for next time). What a lovely short holiday that was!Read more
