    Over to Kos

    June 12 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

Greeted Susie our Housesitter, then off to get the bus to the station. Swift half in Town crier, then onto the Airpprt train. Airport terminal a bit different and nicer now. Plane was delayed, but only arrived in Kos 15 minutes late. But, our so called speedy transfer was over an hour late. Eventually found our apartment, with time for a pint in the Dutch bar and to sample the vibes. Off to bed knackered 😴Read more

  • Sussing out Kos town

    June 13 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Wanderd down to the old town and harbour (5 minutes), checking the boat trips, then onto Lambi beach strip - beach bars and fish restaurants and stopped at Sophies beach bar for drinks and a nibble. Back into town, then home for a rest. Helen had a Nana nap, then we sought out the supermarket and on our wander back had a realisation. We'd been to Kos before, on a day trip from Bodrum, 2 years ago! Had a drink and nibbles at the harbour, then back to change. Went to Tarzans bar (what a character), where a great singer 🎶 was playing - Angelo. A good nightRead more

  • Wandering

    June 14 in Greece ⋅ 🌬 23 °C

Walked to Sophies beach bar and had a brunch there. Another 20 minutes on and we reached Mylos beach bar, which had a really cool vibe with dj music. In the evening we watched some (boring) World Cup football and sought out somewhere to watch Holland. The Camel bar were incredibly racist, dutch people only, really peed off with themRead more

  • More chill time

    June 15 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Did the usual and went to Sophies and had a small lunch (chicken wings Helena!). Then wandered further up Lambi beach and I had a quick dip. In the evening we went to Jacksons bar, nice set up with the singer having a backdrop of the sea, but the atmosphere ot up to muchRead more

  • The boat 🚢 trip

    June 16 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Had a quick coffee before getting on the boat, but noticed people were already boarding, so Helen jumped on to get our beds on the top deck. Had some 'captain' photos driving the boat while the Greek music blasted out. An hour or so sail to the first island 🏝 where I was the first to jump off the top deck while Helen was clogging the loo 🚻. Took some photos of the beautiful church and bay then had a lovely big lunch of kebab and salad 🥗 while chatting to a couple from Exeter. Onto the next island (of sponges) and walked to the tiny village and had a carafe of wine. Onto the final island (saw dolphins 🐬) where we had a final drink and headed back. Had a drink with a couple from Belfast and then headed home. Found a bar with a singer who wasn't great and costed by a young Welsh couple from TonyrefailRead more

  • Greek night in Zia

    June 17 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Spent an hour trying to sort the transport for the Greek night. In the end our host Ilias offered to do it for 50 euros, much cheaper than taxi. Walked through the Agora ruins and then onto Tarzans for food and beer. Both had nice salads. Back to base early to scrub up, then our lift arrived at 5pm. Time for a wander in Zia and a wine with a view, then a 10 minute walk down to Fantasia. Beautiful setting, very Mama Mia. Sat with a couple from northern Ireland then the food and wine arrived. Sunset photos duly taken, then alas, Helen went a bit tired and squiffy 😵‍💫. Had to call Ilias to take us back early, but we did see some of the Greek dancingRead more

  • Lazy day + rain

    June 18 in Greece ⋅ 🌬 26 °C

Went for a beach day at Tarzans, but the weather changed a bit, becoming overcast and a tiny bit of rain. Went to Jacksons again in the evening, but despite a good guitarist singer it was devoid of atmosphere. Had a kebab on the way home in the little place across the roadRead more

  • 15 mile bike ride Tigaki

    June 19 in Greece ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Picked our bikes up and after a few wobbles, got on the road to Tigaki. Bike path for about half the journey, then onto the road which was a little bit hairy at times. Not that much to see, nice beach spots on the way and Tigaki itself was just a strip of bars and shops. Had a nice meal at a Greek taverna, of sardines and tuna salad, but the mango cats were a pain. Cycled back, 15 miles in all! Beer at Tarzans then back to change. Had a drink on the trendy bar on the harbour square, then over to Tarzans for Greek night. Helen had a dance and Tarzan and his brother nearly had a fight, eventful! Back for a kebab over the road, Helens favourite now 🌯Read more
