Bangkok - Day 1

Arrived in bangkok a bit after 5am. By the time i cleared customs and took the subway and hiked 30 mins to my hotel, it was 7am. My god it was hot that day. Sun was barely up and i was really struggling in the heat

Slept for a few hours and then got myself mobile. Took the very crowded subway to the old part of the city. Found a one hour canal boat tour which was very cool.

Then after grabbing some lunch, i went to the grand palaces. What an understatement! Dozens of incredibly intricate temples and palaces. My jaw must have been opened the whole time. To get in, i had to buy a pair of pajama like pants from across the street as no shorts were allowed and they strictly enforced it.

Couldn't bear the heat any longer and flagged the first taxi i spotted. Took another nap until about 6 and then found an authentic Thai restaurant for a really good fish meal.

Yet another nap and then back out for a stroll. Extremely lively neighborhood full of restaurants and bars. Finished up playing pool vs a guy from france for a few hours before ending a great but sweaty first day.Baca selengkapnya
