Day 67 - Tongsa

Another great day of motorcycling with some fantastic scenery all the way and more chances to practice our off-road skills. Our overnight stop was in a remote part of Bhutan with only one road in and out. So, we started by retracing yesterday's route for 80kms back to Tingtinbi where there was a local festival going on. Not many tourists visit this area so we were a bit of a novelty. We were given white scarfs to welcome us and encouraged to try some traditional outfits from North Bhutan - much to everyone's amusement. Also looked around the local craft stalls.
We're now back up at 2,200m so it's much cooler again. Staying in a nice hotel which is welcomed after last nights tent in the jungle. The major hazard today has been cows on the road (calves) which have run all over the road. One was weaving left and right for a couple of hundred metres. Eventually we overtook him!Les mer
