Noel, Tim, and Josie started the day with a tour of Georgetown University. Hogwartsian architecture is prominently featured at this Jesuit University. It was another HUGE tour group. Next, we met everyone else for some cupcakes at Georgetown Cupcakes… including the famous 2048 cupcake (note: ask the kids, I don’t get it). We had some time between activities, so we drove towards the National Mall. We did not appreciate that the cherry blossom/kite festival would be so attended. Beautiful views with thousands of people and kites in the air around some of our nation’s most famous landmarks. Driving past all of this, rather than fighting crowds/parking was kind of perfect. Next, it was off to Virginia to meet with Tim’s college roommate, Jim, and his family. Conversations picked up right where they left off years ago. Jim and Julia were amazing hosts. During this college focused trip, it was great for the kids to appreciate amazing lifelong friendships that are formed during college years. We capped the night with some homemade pizzas at the Donovan‘s and riddles outside over a fire.Read more
