We're over in Garrett IN. at the Auburn Garrett House of Pancakes and just about anything else you could possibly want. They have a section devoted to french toast on the menu even. All sorts of food not just breakfast. An old dinner from way back...

Sunny day road trips

Yesterday and today have been event-full and just about perfect. We attended a festival and parade in White Pigeon. While there we got to go into the Land Office for a history lesson. We also wandered into an interesting time capsule that took us back to the 70's as we found the ice cream social in the not air conditioned basement. We headed for a balloon glow in Angola, but got sidetracked by a steam train. The balloon show was ending as we got there but we did see a lot of balloons lit up. Today was a trip to Auburn for a car show. We got there at the very end, but we were treated to a car show parade. We topped this off with ice cream in downtown Auburn. Czytaj więcej

World's Biggest Ice Cream Cone

So advertising works. Rick picked up a brochure earlier this year at the Michigan Welcome Center for this place. It said "World's Biggest Ice Cream Cone". Now that just begged for a road trip! And here we are! We made it to Station 66. Looks like it was a former Clark Station.

Impromptu trip to Ohio to see critters. Diane was a big hit with the birds. We went back an extra time to visit them. They loved her shoestrings too. We fed giraffes from the car. Watched pigs race. Had some ice cream. Bought a really silly looking cross between a ostrich and a turkey stuffed bird. Checked out all the critters basically. We had a great time. We are both suckers for cheesy tourist traps. They are just old fashioned fun. On the way there we stopped for lunch at the vagabond restaurant. What a blast from the past. It was a bit off the main drag but it was worth the trip back in time. It was like every restaurant was back in the sixties. What's happening in Fort Wayne this weekend? Well, Diane and I are here at the Foellinger Theater ready to see a favorite. 6 rows back, center of the stage. Nice seats!

After listening to the explanation of song Two Lights and then listening to him sing the song the combination of the meaning and the beauty of the music was really a lot to take in.

I got a kick out of watching him sing with his daughter who was also working the merch tent to get enough money to buy a car. They were really cute together on stage. He had done a good job being a dad. You could see it in both of their eyes.

It was a concert I'll likely remember for a while. The sound wasn't the best but I learned the man who makes the music is a good man with a good heart. That makes the music even sweeter Czytaj więcej

All staff day at the Tin Caps. Awesome seats! Busy day...started with a rainy, stormy geocache event. We followed this with lunch with Gail and George. To kill time we saw the Minions movie. Now to the game!

Came over to Defiance Co Fair in Hicksville for a demo derby. Must'a been 200 people in line when we got here early! Went to see how long the line was and there was nearly no one in the infield ticket line so I went for it. $5 well spent. Saw our first roll over in a derby tonight. So far pretty good. But wait.... Another first, the guy behind us was just hauled off on handcuffs after a fight preceded by a good verbal brawl with the row above him. Brought the derby to a halt. As advertised! Having a Black Friday outing. Will like have another eating experience later.

While we at it we got the oil changed then went to best buy to look at refrigerators and phones, headed to Columbia City for a parade and tree lighting. Then back to ft Wayne
Where we found the bestest ever microcreamery on a little street in Fort Wayne. Delish! Now we are sitting in mission bbq. Headed to the Skechers store next
