    Die erste paar Dääg hen mir uf dr nördlichste Insle Gozo verbrocht 🏝️ D Hauptstadt vo dere Insle, Victoria, liegt ziemlich in dr Mitti vo dr Insle und het e alti Zitadelle mitere Kathedrale drin ⛪ D Strosse sind sehr eng zum mitm Auto durezfahre und mir hen uns zerst moll miesse an die maltesischi Art vom Autofahre gwöhne 😲🧱🚘🧱
    Mir hen abr au die ganzi Insle (numme 67km2) welle erkunde und sind dorum einersits zumene 5'000 Joor alte Tempel (Ggantija), zumene Salzfeld, wo sie Salz us verdunstetem Meerwasser gwinne, zunere Kirche, wo dr Jungfrau Maria gweiht isch (Ta'Pinu) und au no zunere schöne Klippe für dr Sunneuntrgang am Meer 🌅

    We spent the first few days on the northernmost island, Gozo 🏝️ The capital of this island, Victoria, lies right in the middle of the island and has a an old citadelle with a cathedral in it ⛪ The streets are very narrow to drive through and we had to get used to the maltese way of driving 😲🧱🚘🧱
    We also wanted to explore the whole island (just 67km2) and so we visited a 5'000 year old temple (Ggantija), salt pans, where they harvest salt out of evaporating seawater, a church which is dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Ta'Pinu) and also some cliffs to view the sunset at the ocean 🌅    Läs mer

Nacher heimmer dr Vera ihre Muet ufd Prob gstellt und si id Mgarr ix-Xeni Schlucht gfahre wo imene wunderschöne Strändli ändet. Dr letzt Abschnitt vo dr Stross isch steil, schmal und eispurig gse😱 Mir hei dr Tag mit Spiessli vom Felse mache, Bruschetta ässe und läse verbrocht🏊🏽‍♀️🍅📚

    After city chaos in Victoria we needed some nature🌅 In the morning we headed to the famous Dwejra Bay where we looked at the impressive rock formations, but we also checked out the beautiful inland bay, with a big cave out of the water and a tunnel to the ocean which is popular with divers. After that we tested Veras driving skills and courage and drove to the Mgarr ix-Xeni gorge which ends in a small rock beach. Tha last section of the road was a steep, narrow single lane road😱 We spent the rest of the afternoon jumping from the sides into the water, eating Bruschetta and reading🏊🏽‍♀️🍅📚    Läs mer

    Kayaking around Comino

    An eusem letzte Tag uf Gozo simmer zu dr Hondoq Bay gfahre zum e Kajak Tour mache 🚣🏽‍♀️ Mir si mitere Gruppe übere Gozo Kanal nach Comino kajakt, die chlinsti Insle vo Malta🏖️, und hei dört d'Blue Lagoon agluegt, si durch chlini Spält, Buchte, Steiböge und Schluchte gfahre. D'Vera ischs vom starke Wällegang zwar chli schwummrig worde🌪️, aber mir heis denn trotzdem im Aschluss mit dr Autifähri 🛳️ no uf Malta in eusi nöchsti Unterkunft gschafft🏛️

    On our last day on Gozo we drove to Hondoq bay to do a Kajak Tour🚣🏽‍♀️ With a group of people we kajaked over the Gozo Channel to Comino, the smallest of the three Malta Islands🏖️ There we looked at the famous Blue Lagoon and kajaked through little gorges, bays and arches around the island. Even tough Vera started to feel a little sea sick, we managed to catch the car ferry 🛳️ back to Malta for our next adventure🏛️    Läs mer

    Nach Gozo wirds Zit, dass mir au d Hauptinsle Malta dien erkunde. Unseri Homebase isch in Rabat, was übrsetzt "Vorort" bedütet, es isch dr Vorort vo Mdina, dr alte Hauptstadt vor Valetta 🏰 Als ersts hen mir dorum au die beide Städt chli erkundet und sind sehr begeisteret gsi vo all dene vielne schöne Gässli und dr Architektur (v.a. in dr Nacht wo alli Touris wäg gsi sind)🤩🪴🚪
    Mir hen au d Kathedrale zmitzt in dr Altstadt mitm Museum bsuecht, wo vieli Schätz und Kunst vo dr Kathedrale zeigt wird 🖼️🖼️🖼️🏛️

    After Gozo it's time that we also explore the main island Malta. Our homebase is in Rabat, which translates to "suburbs" because it's the suburb of the old capital Mdina (before Valetta) 🏛️ We therefore explored these two cities first and were amazed by all the small amd narrow streets and the architecture (especially during the night when all the tourists are gone) 🤩🪴🚪
    We also visited the cathedral in the middle of downtown Mdina and the museum, where there are a lot of treasures and art from the cathedral displayed 🖼️🖼️🖼️🏛️    Läs mer

    Am Fritig hen mir d Hauptstadt vo Malta bsuecht, Valetta. Die Stadt isch nach dr grosse Belagerig 1565 durchd Türke (wo Malta überstande het) baut worde ⛲🏣
    Mir sind ind St. Elmo-Festig, wo für vieli militärischi Zweck verwendet worde isch (vo dr Belagerig 1565 bis 2. Weltkrieg) 🏰 Drnoch hen mir d Stadt agluegt und vor allem au d St. Johns Co-Cathedral, e immens dekorierti Kathedrale vo de "Knights of Malta" 🇲🇹⛪🛐🪙 Es het sehr viel Mensche ka, abr sie isch mega schön und me het viel durch dr Audioguide erfahre 🥰 Zum Schluss hen mir d Happy Hour chönne gniesse und hen wunderbar gässe, bevor mir zrugg in unser Hotel sind 🍹🍹

    On Friday, we visited the capital of Malta, Valetta. The city was buildt after the big siege 1565 through the Ottoman Empire (Malta won) ⛲🏣
    We went into the St. Elmo-Fort, which had been used for several military events (from thebig siege 1565 until the second world war) 🏰 We explored the city after that for a while und above all also went into the St. Johns Co-Cathedral, a absolutely stunnngly decorated cathedral of the "Knights of Malta" 🇲🇹⛪🛐🪙 There were a lot of people, but it was very beautiful and we learned a lot with our audioguide 🥰

    Miġra l-Ferħa & St. Pauls Bay

D'Bucht isch nur mitme chline steinige Wäg erreichbar gse und me hed vomene Vorsprung is Wasser chönne, wo aber denn schnäll sehr tief worde isch 🕳️ Dr Dennis heds als erst gwogt und hed sich nid vom Seegras a de Stei loh abschrecke. Schlussendlich hed sich d'Vera au traut, aber si heds im Wasser denn doch nid ganz eso gnosse bim Gedanke ad Tiefi unter ihre🐙
    Euses Lieblingsplätzli uf dr Insle isch e Steipool in dr St. Paul's Bay wo wunderbar klars Wasser hed und eus gschützt hed vor de Welle vom offene Meer🌊

    On the following two hot days we went to different spots to swim and relax🏊🏽‍♀️🌞 First, we went to Miġra l-Ferħa bay. Its a very small bay at the end of a little gorge which is the only way of access. There was a rock to go into the water, but the water was very deep🕳️ Dennis dared to go in, beside the seagrass on the rocks. In the end, Vera was also brave enough to go in, but didn't enjoy it quite as much with the tought of depth underneath🐙 Our favorite spot on the island was a stone pool in St. Paul's Bay which had wonderful clear water and protected us from the waves of the open ocean🌊    Läs mer

    An unserem letschte Daag hen mir nomoll e Usflug zunere Tempelalag gmacht. Die beide Tempel sind ca 5'000 bis 6'000 Joor alt und no sehr guet erhalte 🏛️🪨 Sie sind perfekt gwüsse Sternekonstellatione und de Sunneufgäng bi de Sunnewändene und Tag-Nacht-Glichi usgrichtet, wases sehr beidruckend macht 🌌🌄
    Drnoch hen mir no e Bootsusflug zu dr Blaue Grotte gmacht, diversi Höhlene, wo in einige s Wasser schön blau lüchtet, wenn d Sunne ine schiint 🟦💧
    Zum Schluss sind mir nomoll go bade 🏊‍♂️ und fein go esse 🍴 zum die sehr schöne Ferie chönne abzschliesse 🥰

    On our last day we made a trip to a temple site. The two temples are around 5'000 to 6'000 years old and very well conserved 🏛️🪨 They are perfectly aligned with some stars and the sunrises of the equinoxes and solstices, which makes it really impressive 🌌🌄
    After that we made a litte trip on a boat to the Blue Grotto. These are several caves where the water is wunderfully blue if the sun shines on it 🟦💧
    To finish the day we went swimming again 🏊‍♂️ and had a lovely dinner 🍴 to celebrate our wonderful holiday 🥰    Läs mer
