• Day 53 Bellingham to Byrness

    11. Juli in England ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Today was not as warm as yesterday and the walk was shorted (15 miles) so a much easier days walking. We had quite a climb out of Bellingham onto the open moor, but it was a steady climb. From the top we had great views out to the Cheviot hills. We then climbed along the edge of Kielder Forest, there was a really boggy steep section here which was quite a challenge and I forgot to test the depth of the bog with my stick and nearly disappeared into it. Once we made it to the top it was then east walking on forest tracks before descending in Byrness where we passed an old church before stopping around the small village and arriving at our accommodation for tonight Forest View walkers inn. This place is great lots of other walkers here, all with tales to tell.Weiterlesen
