Laurie ReynoldsHe’s gone from the cathedral. Last time I was there they had the base surrounded by flowers so that the moros being killed were not visible. But now the statue is gone.

Alan SykesGuarda is much bigger and generally more impressive, especially if, unlike me, you get to see it when it's not completely shrouded in thick wet cloud. Celorico da Beira was a lively, friendly place, but I was possibly biased in its favour because of seeing it in the first sunlight I'd seen in Portugal.
