    Giants Causeway

    September 10, 2021 in Northern Ireland ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

At long last, the visit to the giants causeway!! The natural wonder of hexagonal basalt rocks that stretch from the land out to sea….

The legend goes that Ireland’s folklore hero “giant” Fionn mac Cumhaill built it across the north channel to fight the Scottish giant Benandonner. But it got destroyed when the Scottish giant fled home after he was tricked into thinking Fionn would beat him easily in a fight. (There was a whole thing with Fionn pretending to be a baby, to make it seem like the dad - Fionn himself, would be so much bigger)

Anyway, a misty day for it, but a great walk down and around all the same. And those stones are worth it in any weather.
