Santa Marta

First city founded by the Spanish in Colombia, 1525. Great seafood. The first pic is the cathedral, not original but on the site of the first church in Colombia. Then a couple pictures of the farmhouse where Simón Bolívar died of TB, followed by a monument to him. Then a small fishing village and the coast. This area is the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, said to be the highest mountains in the world that are directly on the coast.Read more
